Tanking Frustration: I blame WoW

only just got to Brayflox but already had lots of bad tanks. Mind you, I will do stupid shit sometimes but I've seen more bad tanks than anything else. YOLO into mobs before priest buffs. Garbage Gear and can't hold aggro. Rage at me for trying to pull mobs off the healer. Rage quit cause they screwed up a pull. Rage quit cause they pulled the wrong thing etc. Most people going off on Deeps in this thread probably don't have any experience playing from the other side and seeing what a bad tank is. Try having "fun" when the tank is a bossy ass who acts like he's king of the dungeon.

Personally I think it would be useful for it to be mandatory in FFXIV to have to experience tanking, healing and DPS as part of leveling rather than being able to stick to a single role. A lot of the arguments I've seen in instances between players essentially boil down to a poor understanding of each others roles and a preference for slagging people off rather than explaining why a certain action is causing a problem.
