Meh ps4. Rather save up to build a PC
Well now I'm really glad I have my ps4 pre-ordered, and bought the ps3 CE.
glad I bought ps3 CE
is the remote play going to be like the NV Shield? or can you really play it anywhere?
The sharing of game footage sounds really neat actually! I love taking screenshots, but taking actual footage would be amazing.
I honestly don't think I'll even make use of this free feature, I'm overly put off at the limitation the PS3 has put on FFXIV: ARR within the level 40-50 range to the point that I'm not playing past the free 30 days. When it comes to the PS4's version I'll be so tied up in my other games on the PS4 that I more than likely won't even remember I have a free upgrade.
I hate to say it but I think Square should have just canceled the PS3's version, release the PC version and than sometime next year put out the PS4 version. As it stands now PS3 users are paying monthly for a PS3 "demo" of FFXIV: ARR till we get our real version which is on the PS4.
Well aren't you a bundle of negativity. As several others in this thread did I got the PS3 CE (though not for the digital items, I wanted the physical stuff, gave the registration to a friend then later regretted it as I still needed the code. Had to get another PS3 copy at a store to keep playing, still worth it) so I could play on the PS3 and, aside from some freezing issues I think might be a memory leak, I'm loving it greatly. It's like playing XI all over again (I had started XI on a PS2 with a 27" TV). While I'm not going to bemoan your choice of PC over PS3, I don't agree that the PS3 should have been skipped. It was promised us back under the previous game director and the fact Yoshida followed through speaks volumes of how much he cares for us players. And, honestly, if there was only the PC version and the not as yet released PS4 version I'd not be playing at all.I honestly don't think I'll even make use of this free feature, I'm overly put off at the limitation the PS3 has put on FFXIV: ARR within the level 40-50 range to the point that I'm not playing past the free 30 days. I'm not really trying to be "a bundle of negativity" it's just if you take a step back and look at the issues going on with the PS3 due to it's out of date hardware and the issue's it faces with rendering Players over Enemies at the moment. You'll see that PS3 users are massively crippled when it comes to the PC or future PS4 versions of FFXIV. Thinking forward players whom don't buy a PS4 or have a gaming PC for FFXIV: ARR will be shut out because of the PS3's limitations, if the issues the PS3 faces currently can be resolved by simple coding optimizations than I will take back what I said.
I do like FFXIV as it's a "normal MMO" in a "modern MMO" world with a story that pulled me in making me feel like I was playing a Single Player Final Fantasy game. It's just that after I hit 50 and wanted to really dig into the meat of FFXIV's end game, 8 Man raids and large scale FATEs, I got slapped in the face by an ancient Demon Wall (PS3).

Wow! I own it on ps3 and was already gonna buy it for my ps4 but free? Ty SE! Now that means that 50$ I was gonna use on it can now be used toward subscription costs for my ps3 version till the ps4 one releases! I'm curious though, beta Feb 22? Does that mean we will he testing it on different servers? And new characters? Or current servers were paying to play on? Because that would kinda be like paying to play a beta.. lol
Nothing official but I'd take "PS4 beta" to mean that it will be the same characters and worlds we're on now. They'll just be testing the client to make sure everything is working such as Remote Play, sharing, and the other PS4 'features' that it will bring with it.Wow!
