Are dungeons planned as f2p?

I have a party of 4 and we've been waiting for 30 minutes to get into Amdapor Keep, which I need to do in order to advance my Grand Company rank.

If we get in before anyone dies of boredom, we'll get some tomes of mythology, which cap at 300 per week (less than you need to actually buy anything).

This reminds me of f2p games, where you can bypass that waiting period by paying some imaginary currency (that's actually real cash) and where you can raise your cap on materials by spending a different imaginary currency (that's also actually real cash). But I don't see the "Pay now to skip the tedium" button in FFXIV.

Are there plans to make this game F2P? If not, can we remove the tedium?

The limit is so that people dont blaze through itemization and obtain full Af2 within days. Time gating, in other words. Ohh it would pretty much allow anyone to grab a relic+1 upgrade too, assuming you could pile on more then 300 seals a week. This also allows people who play less to get the runs they need, so most people have a chance to get their tombstones and not get left behind.

What Arale said, only issue is that there aren't enough instances for the people who want to run AK at the moment.

They're adding a new duty finder server in the weekly, so this should reduce if not eliminate the problem
