    Target forwarding and auto targetting

Is there a way to set up global target forwarding, so that you can target the tank, for example, and have your skills automatically go to the mob he is focused on? Or target the main mob and have heals go to the character the mob is aggro'd on. I understand you can use macros to forward individual skills to the target's target, but it seems like there should be an easier way than making macros for every skill.

Another feature of previous games that I am really missing is the option to have your skills automatically target the nearest mob if you haven't selected anything. Any way to set this up?

An option for this would be great. I hate hitting tab and selecting something behind me or another way out of my area like across the zone. Makes it very annoying in zerg fates especially on a ranged class.

You can select the target of your target with the T key. You can configure in the Keybind panel.

Also, you don't need a macro for every skill... only would need one for targetting and then use yours skill... or can push T.

It's all in the targeting options already. You just have to set it up the way you want it.

although it may not be the best idea to target your tank's target all the time, because tanks may rotate through all the targets to get hate...

is there a command, however, to attack the enemy marked with #1?

Think there is an example macro in your macro menu set up to target enemy marked with #1.

To some what answer your question, when targeting the mob of say the tank and the mob is focusing on the tank you can use /ac Cure <tt> and it will cast cure on the mobs target, in this case the tank. So your macro would look something like this:

    /macroicon Cure
    /ac Cure" <tt>

I believe you can use <tt> in regards to say for example casting Aero on the tanks target, i have not messed with the following example, but it would seem logicial, I think.

    /macroicon Aero
    /ac Aero <tt>
/echo casting aero on <tt>. Focusing on <t> for cure.(where the single <t> will input players name)

As for targeting the closest mob, note this macro "should" lock on to your target and remain locked on until you slay said target, or cancel the lockon manually.. Have not test this maco either, but again should seem simple.

    /macroicon Aero
    /tenemy
    /lockon
    /ac Aero <t>

It's called target of target and yea I can't believe ffxiv doesn't have this by default. Especially considering how hard healers have to work to heal during mechanics.

Lord knows they've added every other coddle feature at the detriment of the genre - you would think this one would be a no brainer. So much so that I'd expect it in the future.
