The only person that should ever be in danger of running out of MP is Bard-B. EVER. However, this is where friendship and FC gil pooling come into play. Support your bards by making some contributions to their gil, or toss them some MP restore-type potions. Ergo, Bard-B (bard-battery...bardery) runs low, he/ she just downs a MP restorative-type potion and voila! Everyone stays happy.

Support bards, please! Without us, your enduring fights have the propensity to turn into enduring wipes...and at that point, who cares whose "DPS" is bigger

You are forgetting quite a lot of info. Summoner have a weak DD. While their DoT are higher than bard, we still do damage on top of our DoTs.

Also Bard have 10% more crit than any other class (without any burst skill). Criticals are not shown in parser for DoTs. On normal attacks, we get about 25% critical rate in end game. So that's an other 12.5% you need to add to our DoT damage.

On top of that, you are forgetting burst buff. We are the dps with the most buff. We have 5 dps buff. This a huge difference that must not be forgotten.
DoT benefits even more than DD from dps buff. Once the DoTs is applied, even if the buff fades, it will still tick at the same power when it was first cast.
This means that most the time, you will have a +30% crit on your DoTs (that's about 45% crit), which means that bloodletter will reset 1 tick out of 2 (2 DoTs with 50% chance each)

Potions are essentially worthless. You can't drink them fast enough to actually recover MP at a rate that will affect anything.
