I just made 50k Gil in under 30 minutes selling Crystal Shards that I have no need for along with parts of the relic quest chains, and that's after spending 20k in repairs. So there are clearly ways to make some money, maybe you just haven't found the right ones/ways.

How about try leveling some crafts. Aside from being able to repair your own gear you might actually find that you can make easy money on hq leve payouts etc. Sorry if grinding end bosses for gear doesn't payout a crapload of Gil. If you don't want to craft etc then at least stop bitching that SE didn't tailor the game to meet your specific needs.
All these threads about no ways to make Gil are getting very old.

Gathering and crafting is the single easiest and most underestimated way to make gil that I've seen. People - even low level players - are ALWAYS in need of basic materials and shards/crystals. HQ stuff adds 200%, also.
