This is getting out of hand!

The number of gold bots on Malboro is horrendous, i can't even go into a main town without my chat log being clogged up completely.

They even go as far as to whisper spam specific players, me being one of them.
I don't even see why they're trying so hard since there's currently no real need for money other than repairs.

Does anyone think SE will have a fix for this influx of gold bots or do you think it'll just die out?

Yeah it's getting way out of hand, i've already ignored shout chat and now they're spamming yell, i'm lucky i haven't been spammed yet on tell or i'd just have to quit.

I've honestly never experience such aggressive gold selling tactics before, even WoW was never this bad, they actually got creative with the corpse glitch outside the auction houses at least...

I walked in to ul'dah at 11.15pm and chat has been spammed solidly ever since, up to and including when i made this reply... (that's GMT mind you)

Please can we have a report option when we right click on players names? It would really make dealing with these guys easier, and you can find the accounts they're linked to that way...

I agree, i've played alot of F2P games and only two P2P games and across every game i've played this has been the worse gold bot infestation i've ever seen.
It's not possible to go into main towns anymore and still have use of your chat, at times it's so bad you can't even black list the bots because there are too many spamming at one time.

Hopefully they'll at least acknowledge it soon.

I started getting tell spams yesterday. That's the first time it truly annoyed me.

It's a pain for sure, but the easiest solution currently is to right click their name and hit "Send Tell", then just switch it to /blist add "Name In Quotes".

Hopefully they actually implement botting countermeasures soon, banning accounts and whatnot.

Because there are so many, I've just disabled yell and shout, isn't a great solution so can't really chat to people... Temporary deals with it though . The thing that annoys me is they have the spam guard licked, if there even is one.

I agree. It is getting crazy but at least I got a better idea of how to put them on my black list.

I came on here for this topic and I'm glad I'm not the only one this is getting to! All of the main cities are completely filled with it and it's destroying any ability to chat!

On PS3 it's even worse - since scrolling and such is much harder and much more imprecise, it takes forever to even blacklist. And they're starting with the irritating random jumble of letter names that weren't being used until now, so typing their names is becoming harder and harder.

Moderators and a right click to blacklist feature - that's all we need!

i dont usually respond on forums, but i feel that i may help here. i found a link to a macro that is very helpful in this situation, or at least till we get a "right click ignore" feature.

/blist add <r>

then just pull it to a hot bar and when one of these douche bags pst u, click it. it will black list the last person to whisper u.

i hope that this helps you all....its helped me.
