Spammer/Hacker logged into my account and created a character to gold sell?

How do I disconnect them they are online now I can't delete the character they created does anyone know a way to disconnect the, my account, account from play? I have changed the password It's weird because I was online today for a while why does the game allow multiple characters online at the same time? I have a JP character online while he is online the NA servers!! The hacked character name is Kamgudar Hamyguda. If that even matters. I have changed the password but i just need to disconnect them somehow!

Create a one-time password using the security token or the app for your smart phone, after creating one, they will be disconnected after a short time and required to input the one time password

You really need to scan your pc for malware, keylogger and viruses, changed your email passwords for the accounts that are linked to your FFXIV/SE account and change your FFXIV/SE account password and it would also be a good idea that after you have scanned your pc to change the email address on the FFXIV/SE account.

Finally contact SE support and explain what has happened and on what servers, also include character names the gil sellers are using and if at all possible provide screenshots, these screenshots will either have to be taken by you or get a friend who is witnessing this to take screenshots and then email them to you.

on a side note, stop visiting suspicious websites that sell gil for real money or those sites that say they have a guide on how to farm gil or power level to 50, sites like these are full of keyloggers/viruses and other not so good things.

These hackers are extremely aggressive though it is no wonder they can get into accounts easily because of the lack of human check for the login. There is no stopping hackers if they want to brute force simple passwords. I should have realized how aggressive they are.

They are hacking your account because you were stupid enough to visit their website and/or buy their gil. It's how their system works. Hack the buyers' accounts to sirculate the gil/gold = less work for them. All profit, zero loss. Been like that since i first saw them appearing back in 1999.

There's no rule saying you can't use your brains and stop to think for a second. Hindsight won't help you anyways.

In conclusion. There's no protection from stupidity.

What a short-sighted and foolish assumption. Keyloggers on sites is certainly one way but not the only way. If someone has a dumb password, and no one-time password, all someone has to do is brute force it.

Some people here probably use the same forum name as their login so all they have to do is crawl this forum for user names, then try to brute force the login. This isn't rocket science. They have been doing this crap for years.

1: Gold/gil/whateversellers doesn't care about non-customers. Why? It's POINTLESS.
2: The reason they target buyers specifically is because they ALREADY HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH A KEYLOGGER.
3: These guys practically live and breathe for the motto "Time is Money". Which is why they won't waste any time trying to brute force or "guess" passwords by forum crawling.

Um, I have never bought gold in my life and never go to those sites. I've had both my Blizzard and NCSoft accounts hacked years ago. That may be one method they get account info but is clearly not the only way.

One bonus of the CE for this game was the included Token which i should probably activate soon(this thread is making me scared).

People, even after they get hit with facts, scream out in denial "I DID NOT DO EET!". It's a human error. It's coded into our DNA, to deny everything even when faced with facts. Some are just a bit more in denial than others, sadly.

I've never trusted anyone who says their account has been hacked. It's a sure sign of a person who's been in contact with their websites and/or used their services.

Oh i agree about the denial part. You're so full of BS that when someone pops a hole in your little idea you start throwing around accusations rather than admit you're wrong. There's other ways to get hacked than your idea. They've been mentioned in this thread alone. I work in IT and I'm working on my degree in Network Security at the moment. Perhaps you should do some research.
