Demon Wall liquefy graphic not showing up!

Hi, I play on a laptop with a 3612qm 4 core I-7 with a 7730m 2 gb ddr3 gpu as well as 8 gb ram, I say that to say, the Demon Wall's purple strips do not show up for me, even with enemy battle effects set to "Show Full" in Character Menu. I've searched high and low for the reasoning why, but nothing yet! Please help me out! I also play at 1680x1050 resolution, so i can scroll pretty far back from the guy.

I usually tank in AK speed runs and have almost got the timing down in my head, but its just extra stress for when the bees show up, as you can imagine, a tank not being able to see a hard hitting move is grief on a healer.

Edit: I have fully updated my graphics driver for the game, as well as lowered as many settings as possible and also tried raising most of them, nothing yet
