dps vs duty finder

look, you dont have to be a genius to understand the reason why dps roll's having such a hard time to access dungeons via duty finder. in my opinion, SE should predict that phenomena of most players would like to play dps, because it happens in almost every mmorpg out there. now i believe that the game will be balanced after the first 33 days and i rly hope it will, for it feels like im being punished for choosing the bard's life . maybe SE was wrong to build a system that creates "pure dps" or pure anything...
maybe SE needed to give each class a decent heal skill which will allows dps roll to stay alive and to be less rely on the healer, that way dps will be able to form parties without a healer or a tank. RELAX you must be furious after reading all this, but if ur not a dps roll u have no idea what it feels like to always write "lf blah blah" while ur waiting 30 min for each single dungeon...its frustrating that all.

That's precisely the approach GW2 took and that game's PvE is a chaotic mess. The biggest reason I'm playing this game is because it has a trinity system.

Also, it takes my healer 20+ mins to find a group since Haukke. The only time I get instant queues is if I'm playing a tank.

Befriend people...it's an MMO. Run dungeons with them. Problem solved.

I also choose to play this game because it uses the trinity system. There have been so many bed MMO's in the past 5 years that continually make it so each class can stand on their own, and reduces the need for teamwork and social activity. Its almost as if developers also, like OP, forgets that they are playing a community based multiplayer game based on team work.

I think WoW started going down hill around the time they introduced the cross server instance queues. While very convenient, even with 45 minute queues, it only further drove the communities apart. Systems like the Duty Finder to not promote friendship, bonds, or alliances with other players.. Its simply drives players further apart.

You should learn to rely on your team/server/guild mates, as they also need to be able to rely on you.

I couldn't disagree more. Did none of you play SWTOR? It didn't launch with a group finder and about 2 months in finding lowbe pugs became difficult.

Spamming a chat LFG isn't more social. No one wants to see it anymore then they want to see gold spam.

First off if dps are going to be able to survive better without a healer, I want to be able to do a whole lot more dmg so I can do my quests easier too. :P

Secondly, the game is far more difficult for healers and tanks than dps. I can't tell you how many countless times I get into a dungeon and the tank doesn't know how to grab aggro on more than one mob. In most MMOs a well geared/skilled healer can overcome bad tanks, but this game is far less forgiving. Bad tanks that don't know what they're doing lose half their health each hit, and even spamming your highest healing spell faces global cooldown times slower than the damage they can take.

In other words, stop your complaining, you'd find more groups if tanks and healers wanted to run instances....but this game is far more challenging for tanks and healers.

I can't even count the amount of contacts, friends or just people for an dungeon or two i made through lfg/lfm "spam" (i am not sure how this is spam but well...) than through Trash Finder, especially cross server. I'd rather see 10.000 lfg or lfm than another game that gets ruined by a trash finder.

The DF should encourage people to actually step up and try playing a healer or tank. Over time, it will work out.

To be honest though, I think forcing each class into 1 of 3 roles is ridiuclous. Some of the best classes of previous MMOs have not fit into any of the trinity. Everquest enchanters or bards for instance. Also, its impossible to have any variety in encounters if a melee dps is supposed to be just as effective as ranged at all times for instance

The only exception to the rule so far is arcanist. Speaking of which, should have made them healer 1-30, because relying on conj 1-30 as the only healer is daft.
