    FATE's need attention/adjusting.

    I'm not just speaking about the large scale FATE events where the enemies are not even appearing for half the people who show up. More specifically, all FATE's i feel need attention whether it is killing trash mobs or nm's or an escort w/e.

    The main problem I am seeing is with so many people FATE grinding most FATE events are done within 2 minutes of spawning.. In certain areas or levels thats fine but in large areas like coerthas you wont even make it to half the events that pop before they are over, especially without a group.

    I propose you at least DOUBLE the amount of required kills for success in the trash mob killing type fates. Add more HP to NM type fates. Spawn more trash mobs for escort quests. Honestly these quests just need to be lasting a bit longer.

    I am not speaking of end game HNM type fates(Odin/behe) either with my above statement regarding NM's HP.

    Agreed. I think the FATEs in Coerthas especially need adjusting. Thankfully you can go from 30-38 in Costa Del Sol and 40-44 in Mor Dhona, which means only two levels spent at Dragonhead, but it's still a pain in the ass. I've probably spent as much time going from 38-40 as I did going 30-38 just because of missed FATEs or getting there and mobs not loading.

    I know Yoshi said something about this in an interview, that it will die down after the initial rush, but the rush is just pointing out glaring faults with some of these zones and FATEs. Coerthas is way too big for just a single aetheryte, while Western La Noscea has Swiftperch and Aleport right next to each other. It doesn't make much sense.

    I don't think one size fits all for these. Rather, I would suggest making the number of mobs / difficulty of mobs adjust dynamically based on the number of players participating.

    I agree with this. My only concern is if they start tweaking with fates then people will run to duties as the next path of least resistance. Then we are back to crashing duty finders.

    It's really hard to make it there in time but keep in mind the game just launched and if they buff things up then it'll become harder when basically no one bothers for obvious reasons.

    I have to say, I really feel bad for all the new players if they want to get more than a few 50s... The current FATE grind was just exhausting amounts of monotony till 50 ACN for me. But yeah, I used to play GW2 for awhile and I feel FATEs were just an alright try at attempting to grab the concept and paste it over into this game but it really has offered zero improvements/original concepts for events over gw2 and comes off way more clunky.

    Also it's pretty crazy how long a fate takes when only 2 people show up. Like a level 48-50 boss fate will pop up somewhere and my wife and I will go (Warrior/WHM) so we can tank it indefinitely but... if no DPS shows up it'll take FOREVER.

    Especially that damn level 46 rabbit thing that pops in eastern thanalan that SPAMS stoneskin.

    This thread is idiotic.

    Fates are an xp and loot handout for the idiots and bots. They take zero effort, are zero challenge, and are huge reward.

    Yeah, they need to scale - to be remotely challenging.

    Moreso, they need to be scaled to reward based on their challenge level. Gathering, crafting, dungeons, and even solo questing are all considerably more difficult yet fates give out stupid amounts of rewards.

    Fates take solo ez-mode MMORPG cheese to all new levels of scrub induced nothing.

    The reason fates get mowed down is because it's xp/loot welfare and there are tons and tons of lazy scrubs willing to play like zombies to do the least amount of actual playing possible to speed level.

    Your solution, while it may work now, will cause more issues than it originally solved in the long run. Think about what happens to those fates 3 months from now when everyone is raiding, is level 50, and doesn't care about them anymore. You'd need to organize an LS Event just to beat one.
