    Clearly off red, still getting hit hard

    Not sure where to post this, but I am still seeing lag issues between when I run off of red areas and when the mob still hits. I was in Brayflox's Longstop fighting the dragon, and it took several tries for our party to complete it. I remember paying close attention, and I was clearly not in the red when the dragon hit, yet I still was getting 800+ damage from his attack. Several times in a row, his red area would show up, I would get the heck out of the way, and BAM! still hit. On normal mobs this isn't bad as a few hits doesn't bother me, but in a boss fight where every hit counts, this is frustrating.

    My friend tells me when this happens to me, on his screen I am still in the circle. Seems to be server lag. AoE needs a reworking imo.

    It's because player location in relation to AoE attacks is all handled server side, as opposed to every other game in the history of ever, which has something like this done clientside. Essentially, it means the game has built in lag.

    I really hope they don't forget about this and expect us to deal. This is the #1 issue I have with the game right now.

    You don't want it all client side. This is how you get teleport/speed "hacks". Do a check and revert maybe.

    I know this was a big issue in the beta forums and it was said it was being addressed. Do you think this is due to the server issues they have been having and they plan to correct this?

    Oh gosh, I did Titan last night, and we had to go through it eight times because someone inevitably was smacked off because they couldn't get out of the way in time (though they stated they were clearly off the ability's area). I had a close call once with this ability, and I was also knocked off even though I was out of the area. Very frustrating!

    I basically have to plan my strategy around how to handle getting hit every time instead of how to move out of the way. And I can move out of the way in time, and often do hoping I won't get hit, but 9/10 tries I still get nailed with big attacks. Glad I am tank dodging and can handle a few hits.

    There is a trick, that works almost every time for me.
    If you move out of the red area of effect, use a skill immediately after you left the red area.
    This works because the server determines your position if you use a skill.

    Thats of course not the solution to the problem, but it make life a bit easier.
