Paladin DPS the worst of all classes?

I find that my chocobo does more damage than my PLD and its only rank 2 with healing spec. I mean all we do is spam combos and yes we can go str but that's just dumb. I find it depressing though that my bird does more dmg than me. Yes we are tanks, but I don't see a problem with doing some damage. We don't have to have the most damage, but at least more than our chocobos. I actually get depressed playing my pld since I literally do nothing other than combos, the healing capabilities are beyond awful since we don't even get a cure 2, 3, or 4 like another game I used to play.... I mean people actually hurt themselves punching a brick wall, why can't they hurt themselves hitting a pld?

yeah I wouldn't mind that, some damage dealing based on when enemies strike us..., at least it helps us contribute in the damage sense and be rewarded for managing aggro effectively. Just an idea, it can be even better if the damage dealt gets a bonus the bigger the mob size.....
