Maybe this isn't the right thread, but I've been reading a lot about account hacking and it seems like most of the people that have experienced it are playing through their pc. As a ps3 user, am I less susceptible to hacking or should everybody get the one-time password no matter what?

I know Sony's site got hacked a few years ago and I could go down that way, but overall is this more of a pc issue?

Well you obviously are pretty safe from spyware and other maliciuous stuff that can steal your PW. Although there is always the issue of same PW on different sources, easy to crack PW and other stuff that could affect you.

I would say curiosity got better of the OP. "Looking" at those websites they spam is how you got hacked most likely. When you go to them it installs a "cookie"....It isn't possible to just randomly type in someones password AND username. To the OP, mate SE will not ban you for looking at those sites, but the stupidity factor might get you laughed at. I would suggest you run scanners, delete ALL cookies from your history. Everything, saved passwords the lot. Then change email And password again

So how do you cancel your account and then reactivate it? I went to account services and when I tried to cancel it informed me that if I cancel I cannot reactivate and I will have to start a whole new account. Is that really what I will have to do?

You should do more research on this subject before you start accusing people of something. People have their accounts hacked mostly because they use the same password on multiple websites, and one of those websites got hacked. Usually forums, because they are apparently easier to hack. There are other reasons, but for most people that don't do stupid things like that...that's a stupid mistake most people make.
