Fates at lvl 40+ are a no go for me on PS3. Fate is over before I see any target.

I've not really noticed if it makes a huge difference, but in the PS3 settings (Character Configuration > Character) you can alter the Battle Effect Settings for yourself/party/others between show all/show limited/show none.
If only they would increase the EXP gained from Guildhests, Trials, and Dungeons, people would have an alternative to leveling, instead of just grinding Fates, which is currently the most efficient way to level.
The rate at which Leve Allowances are given should also be increased while keeping it at a lower maximum count to like 15 or 20. This would prevent people from saving up allowances and actually make use of them.
I think this will help relieve the extreme congestion in Fate Areas and at the same time give people different choices for leveling. Fate grinding gets tiring and repetitive.
This has nothing to do with graphics, it is the same culling mess that GW2 had.
It's not the PS3 it's a combination of two things. First is graphics culling aka draw order aka draw the monster first so we can see it, we don't care about the other players as long as each of us can see the thing we are hitting. second is server overload/lag. There are too freaking many players in the FATE for the server to handle. FATE happen in open areas within an zone which is itself a large single instance containing many, many players. If the zone is heavily loaded you can experience lag at any time. now, let's say a big FATE, one of the really popular ones occurs and you have 100+ players all rushing to join it. With 100+ players (or 50 or whatever large number you choose) all hammering their controls to fight a hectic FATE, the server cannot keep up. The more players, the worse this gets, and the more heavily loaded a zone, the worse it gets. You'll have seen situations where your character will freeze in position and move around like a cardboard cut out. That's because the server is no longer sending much data back to the client and it is only updating your position based on what you are doing locally.
Does the PS3 have some restrictions because of it's own performance bottlenecks? Sure, but oddly enough the graphics engine on the PS3 enforces fairly strict culling already to maintain framerate. That should mean that the performance on the PS3 is more consistent because it already limits how many active characters/enemies you can have onscreen at once in order to maintain framerate.
Personally I think that the overload on the server side is a more significant factor in this issue. I'm certain that the PC graphics engine also has some automatic limiters within it to preserve framerate at the expense of the number of drawn players and enemies. Not to mention the fact that if you talk to PC players with high performance rigs, they are not exactly ecstatic with these FATE either.
Maybe FATE should somehow be instanced to prevent a busy zone from crippling playability in a busy FATE?
Hmm, Im curious if the people who are on PS3 and say there is no lag, are thinking lag is the same thing as others think it is. Im on a PS3 with 6mbps DSL (used to have 30 but had to save money). My ping is like 3x better on my current DSL than it was on my cable connection. Anyway, some Fates are much worse for me, but Im only level 27 but have experienced rushing into a fate zone and not really see anything for about 3-5sec, but on others its better and I can see things enough to fight and heal etc. right away. Im wondering if its the same on faster cable aswell.
What Im noticing most and I assume its system lag, when your approach like a chocobo guy and you see him standing there in the town but no chocobos and only after you get to him the surrounding characters pop in. This seems pretty consistent lately with quest characters aswell. Its pretty annoying.
Im thinking the PS3's low memory issue (the reason for its delay in the first place) is causing these issues where its just too much all at once for the system to load in. With a dynamic MMO like this they cant really program that ahead of time, like they can with games they know whats going to happen, in any certain instance. I probably didnt explain that very well as Im not too technical about programing.

For sure the number of players is too high for the ps3 memory, but it´s not the only reason about lags, cause during the beta 3 i made some ALEAS with 40-50 players around me and i never had any lags issues.
Right now when i'm playing on maps with few players compared to other maps like coerthas, i've always got lags issues and since the last update from SE I also have tremendous lags during dungeon, last time i played during 30min whithout seeing any members of my team...
This iś not only a ps3/ISP/ issue, the problem mostly come from SE servers and the fact that they authorize more players to play on a server than it can support. They open a large number of new servers in US and Japan, but the worlds transfers are not ready yet, so players with high lvl caracters don't want to create a new caracter and start again from the begining...
Maybe in a few months we should see the end of the tunnel...
The graphical processing power of the ps3 is limited. You have to remember, it's a 6 year old system. It has trouble rendering so many character models at once on the screen. That's why it loads models slowly, after an elapsed time.Hmm, Im curious if the people who are on PS3 and say there is no lag, are thinking lag is the same thing as others think it is. this is a rendering issue and priority issue if you havent experienced it on the ps3 then you havent done any major fates such as its not lupus (the big crab in costa del sol), svara, odin, and behemoth. i am sure i missed one or two of the bigger ones but these are the ones i know i avoid. whoever said to change the battle effects settings should know this does not work with rendering as much as it stops server lag. this issue is on ps3 and pc it just tends to happen on lower end pcs more frequently. what happend is when the game servers capacity was upgraded they forgot to scale the rendering priority to the new scale of players.
Edit: this issue has been adressed by SE yet they have not stated any hot fix in the works. what i believe they are doing is waiting for the subscription fees to roll in so that they will have a clearer vision on how to scale this issue.

Unfortunately it runs exactly the way they want it to, also a lawsuit due to this is impossible seeing as they set loading priority for mobs to be under pets players and minions. Also you are only being limited due to performance of what you play on some pc and majority of ps3's face thus issue due to the hardware there on. I know this to be true due to me a buddy on ps3 and one on a weaker pc all on TS and at the same fate I saw everything and my settings are all maxed while both of them saw only players. Mind you we are all within 1 mile of each other and equal isp connections to only difference is power of our hardware.
