Controller stopped being recognized by FFXIV: ARR

(I have already posted this in Technical support but wanted to get some input from fellow players as well)

I have been using this controller on this game since 1.0 and all the sudden out of the blue it doesn't recognize my controller just in FFXIV. It works everywhere else with no hiccups with different games or on the 360 but when I go into the config for FFXIV it says no device recognized.

What controller is it and how are you connecting it to your computer? These would be important details. What happens when you go to the controller config and hit the dropdown?

In game if you go to system settings then gamepad, is "enable gamepad" selected? From the dropdown next to that do you have your gamepad selected? What verison of windows are you using? Did you go into control panels and devices to see if your controller is there?

I figured out how to fix it myself. Instead of overwriting the old driver with a new one I just uninstalled the driver altogether, unplugged the controller and restarted the computer. Once it came back up I just plugged it back in and it auto configured itself and it works again.
