    LFM... I'm confused

Every "Looking for Members" shout I see says they're only looking for geared and experienced members...

But isn't the point of doing the content to become geared and gain experience?

It would be like a wanted ad saying:
"Looking for the next president of the United States.... Applicants must have experience being the President of the United States"

Newsflash.... The shit is just not that difficult.

I'd take someone inexperienced but teachable over these douchebags who "think" they know what they're doing but can't dodge a red circle.

Honestly, if you have to "shout" for endgame pick ups you're probably not that experienced yourself, so stop being so pretentious

If someone is willing to go with you and put in effort, then isn't that better than a duty finder group who you'll never see again?

Same reason why people wanted the blackmage onry parties back in 1.0.

Streamlined = they can go to sleep early. No matter the difficulty of the content, people want it minimalized to the point of almost no effort being required. Look at all the people defending to keep the amdapor exploits in-game, that's their reason. "Because the mechanics just get annoying after awhile"

It's kind of sad, because people want harder content... yet after they do it a couple of times they just write up a 'standard protocol' and if you don't follow it, your out. 1.0

"Must look up youtube and spoil yourself to all surprises to be in party... also skip CS. Failure to do so and you'll be kicked" = The norm once again.

*edit* speak of the devil, this guy explains exactly the mentality that it is for why it's "experienced onry". Because "I don't give two shits about you, my time costs money"

For people whining about speed run, trash mobs:

    Do not give gil
    Do not give loot
    Do not give tomes
    Do not give exp
Wear down your gear faster then dieing

Note: Only 1 person gets 7 Allagan Bronze Pieces from chest.

Result? Clearing all trash mobs wastes your time and most important, makes your repair fees bigger. The amount of trash there is will result greater repair fee cost then dieing 3 times.

Before you even whine about speed runs, how about making trash mobs drop something useful!?

Clearing all Trash Repair Cost > Dieing 3 times for speed run repair cost

Hasn't it always been like this? I remember the only way you used to get into groups if you had 'little' experience was to make the groups yourself. Last time I played WoW, every group for end game stuff declared that you needed the achievement and a gear score of X in order to be invited; incidentally as the group leader, you didn't need to expose yourself to such checks.

Also, for the sake of argument, a lot of places, at least in Australia, require you to have experience for jobs, even medial ones, that you incidentally can not get without having the experience you'd actually get from that job (which you won't get, because you don't have experience!).

Gonna concur on that point, especially if you are at like 4/8 shouting for experienced tanks/healers. Yay you have four easily replaceable DD spots filled, halfway there guys!
If you are shouting for experienced players to basically carry you through the content, you are the weakest link.

Also most of them I've found are unemployed neckbeards who powered through all the content and left their FC/LS mates behind and cannot do runs with their own group so they do shouts to put together their "elite" teams.

Yea, thats true.... but real life has college and trade school.
Also, worst case is that you fail an instance. If a Doctor is inexperienced he could kill a patient... An inexperienced driver can kill other motorists or pedestrians... etc.
The stakes just seem so much higher IRL

Some of the Shouts are hilarious too.
I've got Relic +1... 2 Allagan pieces and the rest darklight (even accessories) and when I see these shouts I think to myself "I'd never run with that person"
but if someone who was newer, and needed to acquire some gear or get experience in the content, I'd be more willing to help that person out, regardless of their gear score.

I thought this was silly as well. People started these shouts within a week of release. People started dropping out of DF if someone said they're new after about the same time.

Jesus Christ, you guys. How do you expect new players to 50 to learn the content if you refuse to take them on it? That said, something like Garuda and Titan HM are much easier with people who know what they're doing. I suppose they assume that's what DF is for? Practice? That's sad, really sad.

When you compared a games requirements to a jobs requirements, you know the situation is dire. I quit WoW in the first few months because of this mentality and would really hate for XIV to get as bad as that. As I've said before, an MMO being successful does not always mean it is good. "Unsuccessful" MMO's that have a smaller player base have a lot less elitism and trolls, and a generally nicer community. Of course there will always be these elitists running events but not to the point of 8/10 groups being "experienced only". It's at this point that I really hope people get bored of it and leave already.

I have noticed its mostly dps players that do this. Kinda funny how they take the easy job and expect no mistakes from the healers and tanks.
