this is a very, very, very, good news!

this is a very, very, very, good news!

Now the next topic at hand: potions, ethers, remedies....to be useful too. =p

Having to guess what stat boosts food gives you is like having to guess what stat boosts my new sword gives me.

Thank you see for coming in here and letting us know that info is on the way for all players.. But I hope you plan to adjust the way foods buffs work to be less complicated and more worthwhile of all ranks... regardless of player's Stats and Element setups as the below link lists...
http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...entry?e=144489
That link above lists the way food currently works. The system is overly complicated and worse makes food either useless at a certain point or minimally useful. Even if a player keeps there stats at a completely even 84 across the board they are going to eventually have stats to high for food to be of much use. Currently the highest affinity item in the food is a 67 which means once you get 75 in a stat food becomes alot less useful.
Please fix the food system completely because its current version is just bad. I am glad the info on what food does will be listed in game. But if the system is not adjusted this info is just going to reinforce how bad the food buff system currently is.
If players need to readjust there stats/elements just to make food buffs more optimal, food sales are just going to stay in the toilet.

Set of ideas to revision of food as well as information to be listed in tooltips so Culinarian is finally a worthwhile job, especially to those who have waited OVER 8 months (Beta, Alpha) for you to fix it.
- Food gives a specific % increase or a hard # increase for the allotted buff time.
- You can eat food which is a max of 5 ranks above your current job rank. Eating food and then swapping to a job that is not within the 5 rank rule automatically nullifies the buff. Eating food before you hit optimal rank would lessen the buff by -25% when you are 5 ranks under it, -20% when you are 4 ranks under it, -15% at 3 ranks under it, -10% at two ranks under it and -5% at 1 rank under it. Once you hit the optimal rank you get the full buff.
- The next tier of food should be a significant boost over the previous tier, enough to warrant moving on to the next food as soon as it is optimal.
- The bulk of Recipes requiring 8 ingredients should be revised to use less ingredients. There is no reason to not have recipes that use that many ingredients, but it should also be offset by many recipes that use less ingredients. There should always be recipes you can use to rank up that don't require the max number of ingredients. It is completely unfair that most r40+ cul recipes not only require hard to get ingredients but also require you fill the max 8 slots to even make them, while other classes can rank to 50 or nearly 50 off 1 ingredients recipes.
- More fish recipes for R30-50. Alchemist get fish synthesis pretty much from 1-50 yet cul gets what.. 3-5 recipes post 30 or so that use fish?... Really?
- Increase the total output amount on foods that you get 2, 4 or 6 as the base.
- More useful fish synthesis, some fish can be HQed and you can pull objects out of them. This is a very useful thing and should be expanded. All fish should be able to be turned into sea/river sand (as they currently can be) and all fish should have 3 different items that can be pulled out of them depending on how well you HQ it. Fish swallow things, use that and expand the culinarian role in-game.
- Add black pepper to the botany loot list already!
- Foods currently give two buffs, overall there are not many different pairings of buffs, increase the amount of recipes as well as the buffs. Perhaps one food gives +ac and +str, or + ac and + con, or +ac and + dex etc.. etc..

As for point 4, Vesper, the offset could be also the usefulness factor of said recipe as in : lots of ingredients for better foods, and less ingredients for the lesser ones.
I would had also the possibility of doing touch ups on final meals. Of course if there is actually a better % of HQing for Chefs, considering the impossibility of doing any touchups, then it's a tradeoff I'm personally ok with.
Can we please add cinnamon to the loot list as well? It's a bark. No reason I shouldn't be able to pull it off grade 4/5 trees in Thanalan or something.
Pepper was already mentioned earlier, I'd forgotten about vanilla bean, but that too should definitely be in there :P I use a lot of cinnamon making crowned cakes, so that was at the front of my mind when posting.
