unless you level every craft and gather to max you will always need someone else for mats. All crafts need at least 3 others to work, but you only need one to make money. There will always be someone to sell to.Why do people keep on insisting that players need to level a crafter? There should be a sustainable way to keep on playing this game without bothering with DoH/DoL, instead of being completely bankrupt as pure DoM/DoW running endgame dungeons/primals.
Besides, if everyone had every crafting job to 50, who would crafters sell things to?
they need to add in daily quests or dungeon rewards
As it is now FATES already give way too much, they're the best exp and they actually do drop gil, and they drop seals in overabundant amounts to the point that the mechanics for those individual things are useless. who does battle leves or GC leves at all?
and they are also overdone to an extraordinary level where even the biggest ones like behemoth is just run in and press whatever buttons you want with no thought involved whatsoever
The way things are now is pretty grim with money flowing out at like 3x the rate its coming in but pigeonholing the entire game into "let's run from blue circle to blue circle blindly spamming aoe's day in day out" makes into almost not even a game anymore
Just because you are not making any money does not mean money has stopped being created.
Believe it or not, gil is still being created by brand new characters and older characters who still haven't done quests. If you rush a job to 50 without doing any farming or crafting while teleporting everywhere, you will be broke, and it's not the economy's fault.
Why the hell do you all need this to be spelled out? It's so freakin' simple. And don't say, "But making money from the auction house doesn't create gil!" Gil is being created by new characters who are spending their money at the auction house. Holy hell in a handbasket, I didn't think you all could whine any more, but I guess I was wrong. Here you are, complaining that you don't have any money when you've done absolutely nothing in order to make it.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but I think their main worry is when there are no longer anybody in storymode or very few that this will be when Gil will start drying up as the great amount of Gil being earned right is from the story mode which is why we see those at 50 talking about their Gil drying up.
But we're nowhere near that point yet, and there actually are gil fountains in this game. It's just that no one wants to do any of the work involved, so they burn through teleports and repairs and then look at their gil and scream economic terms they've never learned the definition of.Now correct me if I'm wrong but I think their main worry is when there are no longer anybody in storymode or very few that this will be when Gil will start drying up as the great amount of Gil being earned right is from the story mode which is why we see those at 50 talking about their Gil drying up.
Playing should at least be self sustainable by doing the things you want, i.e. playing only battle classes. Everything else is economical suicide for SE. Catering to those 1% who will raise all required crafting professions to max [to not be in the net loss GIL area] won't keep the remaining 99% playing for to long. Either those 1% are happily paying 1000$ per month, or SE better starts making endgame GIL neutral for DoW/M.But we're nowhere near that point yet, and there actually are gil fountains in this game. It is. You can go and level only MNK and farm mob drops. Then crafters will buy those drops from you with gil they've earned from their levequests.
See how that works out?
I don't like how that works out. And therefore I request SE to change it.
Killing mobs mindlessly in order to be able to repair my gear and play the game - No thanks.
How I see it - running the dungeon should provide us with a minimal income that lets us at the very least repair our gear, without forcing us to do such BORING tasks like farming or crafting.
If you wanted to get rich - sure, go and farm. But having to do it in order to just repair my gear? That is a bad idea IMO.
"I enjoy my crafting classes so everyone else should like them as well. The game is fine"
-The "works as intended" crew.
