you can only buy dark matter
dark matter is only worth using for repairs if your gear is actually broken, otherwise the npc repair is cheaper, but that means you have to repair in advance

you can also not change your weapon inside a dungeon, so you can't even wait to repair your gear when it's actually broken, because it means you will have to leave the dungeon to change your class.

heck. my highest char is lvl 26 and I understand this issue. (and if anyone cares, I'm also filthy rich. but I want to STAY filthy rich, which is only possible if others buy my crafted stuff. which won't be possible if they have no gil income. we can't all buy the crafted stuff off of each other for nill)

that being said 'fixing' repair costs is not going to be a solution in the long run. people will still want to buy new stuff and they will still not actually be able to get any gil worth the run for.

you can NOT sell stuff to people that have no money. try opening a Gucci store in Congo

all of this being said, I do strongly believe that the dev-team is doing this on purpose to even-out the economy, especially in regards to legacy players transfering off of legacy servers, but the question is how long will this actually work? how long are they going to wait?

Honestly bro, sounds like your own problem. I'm up to 300k and I'm not even max level yet; I've gotten that just by playing the market board alone, nothing to do with crafting or any thing.

In the mean time, I've also been steadily gaining levels on my main, and have had enough time to dedicate levels to other jobs as well.

How exactly is it that you ever planned on getting Gil in the first place if you never had any intentions on working towards it?

Here we go again, another guy that knows nothing about the end game.

Did you read the topic at all? Everyone had good gil during the leveling phase, the problem is once you hit the end game and you have to run the same dungeon x100 times.

Lol, you really think I'm that ignorant and know absolutely nothing? Dude, when I played WoW I literally did nothing but raid, and was regularly stuck at such low gold amounts that I had to beg and borrow to pay for repair bills. It doesn't matter what game your playing, if all your doing is literally running dungeons and not bothering going out to do any thing else, your going to run into money problems. This is all your fault if you are unwilling or incapable of going out and earning gil to offset repair bills while also simultaneously running dungeons.

Like I said, you can make money in this game easily enough if you actually put the littlest amount of effort into it. Once a day for like 10 minutes I'll do a quick scan of the market board, see what's up that I can buy and sell for higher, and do just that, and than I run off and do my own thing. At the end of the day I've made back at least 20-30k in gil, all for 10 minutes work. I'm sure if I actually dedicated my self full time to it, I could easily be pulling in 100k+ a day.

Again, stop crying and actually go out there and earn your money instead of asking for it to be handed over to you for nothing.

    @Rakashu

You are sooo stupid, on so many lv........You have no clue on how economy work......

Right now the only influx of gil is from new players doing quest, and when it eventually run out, who is gonna buy any thing? might aswell pick up a craft and do every thing your self. But with that point, what is the use for the market?

with this I ll say it is about different game and play method, I do agree that the gil generate is not high compare to the gil sink from AH/teleport/airship/repair, but then again there are also method ingame that help to reduce the cost at the last 3, if you actually do them

WoW's daily quests gave you enough gold to afford the cost of raiding and still make a nice profit. I don't think the same can be said about XIV's leve system, fates, or any other activity when it comes to putting new currency in circulation compared to what is taken out.

What you make from the market board is irrelevant. The money you're boasting about is not new currency, it's money from other players that is being shuffled to you and taxed. Most of this gil was probably generated via quest rewards. What do you imagine will happen when more people run out of quests and have no more silver coins to sell?

Holy carp the servers just lit up like a christmas tree. I can finally create a new character on my server and pretty much any server down the list.
