    Area attacks in fates

    Many of us see it time and time again 5-10-15 and even 20 or more Blm show up for a fate (In this case the Costa bomb fate) and spam area ice spells over and over and over. The targets all drop like flies and this coupled with the constant lag of enemies appearing makes it next to impossible to get a descent contribution towards a fate.

    In regards to fates the playing field is so in their favor it is becoming impossible to contribute anything. During fates i ask that you slow down the recast time of area spells\skills considerably or seriously nerf them to level the playing field for the rest of the classes incapable of making a descent contribution in their presence. -.-

    What real incentive is their to play anything but DPS? We can't even get 1 measly stinking bomb ash because we have to contend with AOE classes soaking up all the points and exp. The contribution of classes incapable of doing AOE from the get go needs to be raised considerably to be on par with these classes.

    I play warrior and just mash single target moves on mobs with full health. Always gold medal. That's even in highlands which is more nuts than costa del sol. Don't show up late and you're fine. Doesn't take much to get gold.

    It is a event fate you can bet i was right on top of the fate when it spawned. Plus even with normal fates nearly every location has a dedicated 100+ player strong fate raiding community many of them BLM! Contribution is not based off the fact you managed to get a few good hits in on a server with a playerbase as large as mine. I need to do some serious damage to get gold and with 20 blm around it is next to impossible unless i am looking at a boss.

    A workable solution would be to let us see what our contribution is _during_ the FATE, allowing those FATE-campers to see when they're done and lay off. Another is to reduce an individual's actual contribution rate based on how they are impacting the FATE. In other words- when a DPS class is getting one hit on 6 enemies repeatedly and their specific contribution is proportionally higher than the others in the group, kills on those mobs raise the completion bar for the FATE less. It would have to be specifically tuned to individual classes that have the ability to dominate a FATE.

    Perhaps even raising the total health of the enemies that enter the FATE if they keep dying near-instantly? That would allow other characters to get hits in without threatening to create mobs that are too powerful by just raising their level or anything.
