Repairing the gear of others?

I am sorry if there has already been a post of this I couldn't find one. But does anyone know how to repair other people's gear or is it something that's going to be added on later on i couldn't find any info for this.

Yeah, I hope this gets put back in soon. I was confused for a while as people in my FC were trying to repair each other's gear and we couldn't figure out how. Eventually realized that feature no longer exists. I really hope this is not permanent.

I'm sure we saw a video of them attaching material to someone's gear. Makes no sense since gear is bound now, meaning players who don't craft can't get their stuff materia'd

Oh yeah its not melding materia im worried about its getting my gear repaired by friends rather then spend gil.

To: Yoshi P and the FF 14 Team,

Please bring back the ability for us to Request Repairs, as well as Repair other people's gear!

It is extremely frustrating right now, forcing those of us that don't have a certain Craft leveled up, to use the NPC Gil Sink to repair our gear, every single time...

Even though it's "minor," being able to repair other people's gear, and requesting repairs engenders a *Online Community* and interaction with other people. There are too many things in the game that are pushing us to be solo / isolated.

I've really just been sitting here for the last 10 minutes trying to figure out where to even do this after my friend asked me how to fix his lance. I really don't see how this is helping anything by forcing players onto NPC's when theres crafters readily available and willing to repair stuff. It makes even less sense if dark matter is still obtainable out of top level instances.
