High level gathering is useless

I have a 50 Fisher and a 45 Miner, The only material I ever buy from the AH is Gold Ore, and I will never ever ever again after I get my miner to 46 and get Truth of the Mountains. The marked for gathered materials will always go down as people level up. It's just too easy to get materials yourself. That being said, almost all Crafting gear is useless, as a couple hours of grinding tombs can bypass any gear for DoW/DoM jobs.

It's sad but it's just part of the game. I invested so much money into getting my Goldsmith able to 2* crafts, but the only thing I can ever sell are the following: Crafting items, such as Electrum Choker, Aetherite Rings, and iLv55 Helms; A Relic Reborn Weapons, the BLM item needed for the relic quest that's price is dropping mega fast.

This is just my view but i can easily see what this might be, like what someone mention before this was thoguht of before hand and its basically to cap of monopoly's and bots. Im guessing 2.1 sometime November will raise the craft levels past 70 so their will be a actual market instead of handicapping the market .

The market right now is other crafters. DoW/DoM rarely even buy food. 90% of the time I use Duty Finder, I'm the only person who is eating food.

Crafters and Gatherers REALLY benefit from the HQ crafted gear, especially once you bind materia to it. Yes, you get gear from your class quests every 5 levels, but not complete sets.

Sometimes finding a good money source is more about patience and hard work than it is about getting to lv. 50.

On balmung the market seems ok, I mine crystals for my goldsmith, buy nq electrum and turn it into hq ingots for a 400% profit. I could go a step further and turn it into a 1* or something but the money is good being a middleman.

Everything everyone is stating is true. you look at the easyness of the game at this stage and the ease of access gear has the economy took a back burner.
while people run castrum over and over for darklight to run other instances to then get the new relic gear the crafted items do fall into a hindsight.
in FFXI food was crucial to how your character was in a fight, and gear meant everything. the easy access to this gear at the end game level has made the crafts as a whole....a hobby and thats pretty much it. im sure in future patches there will be something along the lines of the gear they had in FFXI where u need a drop and a craft to unlock said new gear. like behemoth skins needed for the behemoth armor set.

It does make money, you farm the mats to craft the gear without spending a gil on any of the mats.

In Moogle at start, i earned gil selling dyes, 1k, 800 gil. Now 150 gil and thanks.

The most crafter are leveling using levequest, giving HQ items crafted by himself or buyed in market whether is more cheap. They no necessary buy raw ores.

If you wanna sell item, look the items which they need HQ and put on market.

Farming shards is probably the most profitable as a gatherer. Pretty sad actually.

Another issue I have found is, you can level crafting really fast using leavequest, but there are no leave quest for gathering past lvl 25ish (miner atleast), so you have to brute force it.

In Coerthas, southeast village have lvl 35 levequest, the northwest, lvl 40+. One trick is get the levequest, i don't remember the name, there are 4 nodes and bonus 20% xp reward if you obtain 160 points. Sometimes, one potion 300GP points help you to complete on time if your level or gear is low.
