Trying to play on high graphics issue.

So I'm sure many of you out there have some pretty amazing graphics cards and would love to be able to play on highest settings. Unfortunately it appears that brings the fps down below 30 making the game somewhat unenjoyable.

So far the main problem i've discovered is that there is 1 setting in particular causing all my problems:

FFXIV Config - General Settings - Video Settings - General Drawing Quality

I've found that everything else can stay on high without a problem, however this one setting single handedly affects my FPS massively.
With EVERY other setting on high, a General drawing quality of 10 will give me ~24 fps.
Change it down to 9 and i'm looking at about ~45-50. Change it to 8 and i've got 60 fps cap.

If anyone else can shed anything they might want to add that'd be great, otherwise I hope this helps some of you who had the same problems with graphics as I have.

I'm running a 6970m graphics card for those wondering.

When you have General Drawing Quality at 8, the game draws the frame in a "screen buffer" equal to your screen resolution, at 9 it is 1.5 your resolution, and at 10 it is double your resolution.
That is why it has such a major impact when increasing General Drawing Quality, the "screen buffer" size grows exponentially.

It's taken me quite awhile to finally discover that, wish there was some sticky posts in this forum so someone else's posts who might have covered this was stuck in this section.
