Basic business = buy wholesale and sell retail. As best I can remember from my college business classes, a "normal" retail markup for "average" clothing is between 50% and 100%. Therefore, when selling inventory to a Vendor I was expecting to see the prices paid to be around half of what they charge their customers. Imagine my shock when I discovered they are paying alarmingly paltry amounts!

For now, I am forced to sell the stuff I make as a Weaver (Light Armor, Gathering togs, Crafting togs, cloth) for between 1-gil and 5-gil. This is punitive in the extreme. Since I do not yet have access to a Retainer, and, therefore, can't sell my items via the "Auction House," I have no recourse but to sell to NPC vendors when my bags are full.

For example: An NPC shop keeper sells a Straw Hat for 226-gil. If I make the exact hat and sell it to a Vendor, I will receive 2-gil. WTF? 2 lousy gil??
