Imagine someone rolling for much desired XI drops like RDM hat because they need gil, and it vendors for 20k.

With harder content you may find yourself avoiding duty finder and putting together a group yourself by shouting. In this situation the players you recruit may or may not have multiple classes, and some people may have to go specific classes in order to have the right set up to clear that content.
These problems are obviously negated if you do everything with an FC, or only trusted friends but that won't always be the case.

You are putting words in my mouth, I have not suggested any specific changes to the loot system.
I'm not putting any words in your mouth, you yourself said that you want to take precedence for the off-class drops over people who would roll on it for their own off class or for GC turn ins. That's the very definition of greedy.
Conj - 40 runs a dungeon with a summoner -50
Awesome hat drops, conj needs, Summoner also needs even though his hat is 10x better - Summoner wins, says he has a lowbie arcanist that could use it and the conj gearing up is not his responsibility
I'm pretty sure this is what the OP is talking about, greed menatility........shocked so many of you can't see this
This is the only legitimate complaint in the topic and completely not what the OP was getting at. OP literally said he's using a tanking class in dungeons to gear up his other "main" classes, and therefore everyone else in his group should pass all gear to him if it's not for their class. Complete, unadulterated greed.Conj - 40 runs a dungeon with a summoner -50
