    Most cocky class?

As always, let me state that this is not intended to bash the game in any way. Only for opinions. Please avoid flaming people for having an opinion.

Now then, most cocky class. You know what I mean. That class that always ends up screwing dungeons and other important activities, up.

For me its a tossup between Black Mage and Summoner.

    Black Mage...
As a tank I have found that there are many (not all) BM's that like to charge ahead or start attacking before I have started pulling agro. They always seem interested in firing off that spell NOW and screw up my pull so I have to work hard on gather up all the mobs that just charged them.

On the flip side, a good BM is an asset that I love having on my team. Between sleeping enemies and doing huge damage, I love seeing the boss die fast rather than the slow pace you can get from other DPS classes.

    Summoners...
Oh summoners. I feel so sorry for you at times. In a dungeon, your pet dies so quickly. I was just in Titan where our poor summoner would have their Ifrit pounded to paste by AOE damage alone.

But there are those times I want to strangle a summoner. Sending out a tanking pet that pulls my agro and forces me to start chasing them around. Then if your pet dies because you chose poorly how to manipulate your summon, you chew ME out for your failure. I can tell you right now. As a Paladin, I only care about keeping players alive. Your summon is just another spell as far as I am concerned.

This goes for any spell slinging class...
AVOID AOE's. Your spell getting off is not as important as avoiding AOE attacks. Even as a Tank I run away. A Paladin is a jawbreaker as a tank. I am all one crunchy center. A Warrior is a sponge. He can soak up damage all day with his health and self heal. You are a caster. You are tissue paper in a flood. Don't get hit.

Adding another one to the list..

    Bards...
Another class I tend to sympathize with. They are really squishy and blend into the background. I really never see a Bard standing out. Even as support they are very Meh. (At least from what I have seen thus far)

What tends to irritate me about Bards is many seem to never be aware of their surroundings. When a Boss throws an AOE at them, many just stand there like a deer in the headlights. The past 3 Bards I have fought with were always the first to go because they were not paying attention. Just kind of off in their own world. This does not make them cocky. But it is annoying as hell.

I'm sure a lot if it has to do with duty finder groups. All I hear is how much people suck in their DF parties, as far as LS and FC chat goes.

Well, what you said is just the fault of the players, not the class.

A class you can fix, the player may stay dumb despite good intentions.

The point is about the general population of the class. Not the physical class itself.

..but you're giving individual anecdotes about bad players yourself--not the general population.

I also have another issue with your first post: the fact that a SMN (as their name suggest, summons) has a tank pet that may rival your inept ability to keep aggro doesn't mean you should hate on them and instead embrace ingenuity and diversity in a dungeon that doesn't strictly rely on your god-given tanking skills, albeit as imperfect as they may be.

For every "cocky" class there is, as according to you, there is an equally, "cocky" PLD, as according to another.

If there is one thing I cannot stand when cramped up in an unordinarily long dungeon is a traditionalist tanker class that thinks everyone should follow in line behind him as though the entire party should be forever grateful he chose to grace their duty finder queue.

These tanks, as I've seen in other games, have failed when unforseen circumstances came up in the party and the normally "defenseless" and "cocky" players took up non-traditional dungeon roles and defeated said boss using a mixture of aggro sharing, kiting, ingenuity, and just plain ol' fun.

    FUN.

Because, my friend, that is what makes a game.

I use examples to back up my opinion. Its not my soul experience of my dealings with said class.

As for my tanking ability, I am not referring to the boss. I can AOE taunt NPC's just fine. But I can't keep up agro if your pet keeps attacking the NPC I have marked and I lose agro on it because I am trying to keep everyone on me, while tanking the boss. If this make me a bad tank, I guess I am. But I have never had anyone complain about my tanking skills before, besides what I have mentioned. Never from healers or other DPS.

I also do not feel my tanking ability is "God Given it was earned through equal parts trial and error over the course of many years playing raid tanks. It takes a small amount of time to adjust to a new system. But its still using similar mechanics (facing a boss away from the party and so on)

Paladins - those who just charge in to the next set of monsters before getting cured or buffed. Running around like headless chickens and blame the healers haven't cured them when they die keep getting out of line of sight.

Granted any tank gets it in the neck a lot because its a bit of a thankless job, not quite as much as healers, but close.

The ooc regen seems to top me off well before the next pack on my War. My mate who heals doesn't even bother touching his Cure until I've about 3-6 seconds into the fight . As for that damm carbuncle ugh helps having the healer as a buddy we just let it and the guy behind it die.

As for Line of sight....that's 50/50 healers should be attached to the tanks behind albeit 15-20 yards behind. Tanks still need to be aware of the position of everyone tho.
