PS3 controller on PC with no 3rd party software

I didn't post this on technical support because I don't think this is a problem in the game, rather I am new to this controller thing.

So i borrowed a PS3 controller from a friend to try it out on my PC.

I've plugged in the controller and the game seems to detect it, but I can't calibrate it.

I've searched the forums but I can't find the answer that I'm looking for. I've tried google and they always tell me to download some kind of program to enable the controller for PC use.

I have no problem downloading those softwares to enable controller, I just want to ask if it's possible to use the PS3 controller on my dekstop without the use of one. And if so, how.

ps3 controllers cannot just be connected... you have to use third party software like DS3 tool. or you can buy a cheap "PS3" style gamepad off amazon that is plug and play. If you don't like ordering a knock off just get a wired XBOX360 controller and plug and play. All after configuration of course.

Another option, if you have any old PS1/PS2 controllers lying around, is to get a USB adapter for them. It's like $5 or something (I'm not super sure of the price since I've had mine for ages, but it was really cheap).

Unfortunately, what you are looking for does not exist. Short of a third party application to install drivers that will work, such as MotionInJoy, there are currently no ways to get a PS3 controller to work on a PC. The reason for this is that the Sony PC Drivers for the PS3 Controllers are proprietary and will never be released to the public most likely, due to not wanting to have to support whatever applications they would need to distribute the drivers with to the public.

I'm playing it on my PC with my Ps3 controller using MotionJoy (DS3Tool) and it work like a charm, without problems.
You can trust totally MotionJoy software, it's couple years im using it on my PC to play racing games with my Ps3 controller and never had a single problem, plus it's really easy to setup and if you want to go even deeper, you have the option to totally customize the controller behavior.
