PS3 End-Game Not Working As Expected?

This may just be my PS3 as it's 7/8 year old hardware but I keep getting random 5-second freezes and lag spikes during 8-man content, which is punished heavily with death.

At this current state of time it feels unplayable and will most likely be worse when 24-man content is released.

This isn't a moan thread, more a cry for help because if someone else is in the same boat as I am it would make me feel better!

EDIT: And no, it's not a connection issue as I pay for a very good one. Also, there are no issues in 4-man content.

How often has this been happening? I haven't had any serious lag during the 8-mans at all.

Once every minute or so.
Every single time I try do a run of Castrum, or even Ifrit.

I've had a healer complain that they could not see the half the party in the 8-man castrum. They were running the PS3 version also, with bad frame rate.

I had the same issues with the 8 man content. I couldnt see the offtank and the two ranged dps. HM Ifrit has been unplayable for me, because it wasnt possible to avoid the AOEs at all when they spawned at where i was standing, even if i would run out immediately. Made me feel like a hindrance for the whole team, didnt feel nice.

I haven't had any issues at all with 8-man content, but I've got one of the newest models of the slim PS3 (not super-slim but was made at the same time as a special edition). You could try disabling party effects and see if that makes any difference?

My wife is having issues in fates and the like similar with enemies and party members not appearing, but I think that has got to do with priority of what shows being an issue.

Even on PC I've noticed certain fates having people and mobs disappear and reappear. I need to stand right on top of Svara during prime time for it to even show so I can target it. Settings all maximum, no framerate issues. I think there's just a hard cap on how many things will display.

As for PS3, damn. Shouldn't have that issue in an 8-man party.

This has been confirmed by Square on a rendering issue hitting some PCs and all PS3 models, their "battle team" is researching the cause and how to fix it. Sadly until this is addressed and fixed once my free month is up I'm not subscribing until the PS4 version releases or a get a gaming PC setup(which likely won't happen till near the end of next year).

Yoshi-P went on record to say that the PS3 version will pale in comparison to the PS4 version and he highly recommends players get the PS4 version as it will be a significant upgrade when compared to the PS3 version, it's just so sad the PS3 version is so horrible as it stands.

With news of the free PS4 version for PS3 users I will definitely be playing FFXIV on my PS4 as there is no reason for me not to now.
