Arcanist here, I always wait for the tank to make first move and attract the aggro before attacking, but may I add my two cents for other fellow DPS: don't start running around if you get aggro on yourself, try to stay near the healer and behind the tank so you won't attract more aggro to you, I've had one party in which the other dps started running in circles to try to escape and he ended up attracting more enemies to himself. Healer was foccused on tank so I had to act as secondary healer for that dps :/
The way I'm picturing this makes me cringe and I would say no times 1000 to this. If a dps pulls hate the last place i want him to be is near the healer. Idealy, I want him right to my side or in front of me. Obviously we're talking ranged and magic users because the other dps will be right there. As a tank I don't want to be chasing after mobs so stay near your tank or run to your tank! If you're tank is smart he'll pull hate off of you right away.

As a warrior I just usually overpower everything so things stick on me and then i like to have some fun with bloodbath and overpower and berserk and internal release and get a nice return on my hp. lol I usually can handle not having dps not attacking the same target as I am (though might be a bitch on my healer) but I often keep hate on mobs. Im tempted to try paladin because I want to know how much different it is, I though paladin was the easier of the tank jobs (to keep hate and have crowd control) but most people tell me I do better. Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong but there is an /assist command isnt there? I would assume dps could use this to focus on what the tank has, which is a lot easier/faster than having the tank mark everything. For me marking is a problem sadly because im on ps3 and i havent found a way to mark efficiently and as quickly as possible and I have found that even if I wait 2 seconds to engage a mob or properly mark them people are in such a rush they get tired of waiting and engage. Seriously wheres the fire?
