Rested Xp

I know all my character gains the rested XP and not the class. But my question is does the rested xp equal out in numbers not % of the bars?

i.e. My lvl 35 gets 100k rested xp, will my lvl 1 get the same 100k or will his drop to 100xp?

So is it best to use the rested on my higher level to get max benefit?

Well that sucks bad.... I just had max rested I believe and picked a lvl 1 class lol

Actually from my experiance if i swap classes at all when i have rested exp i lose all of it. Eg. I had about 1/3 of a bar rested on my archer at 17, went and got profs from limsa guilds, hadnt done any kills or turn ins or watnot, went back archer and had no rested. Also i didnt have any rested when i was on those lvl 1 classes either.

I had about a day and a half worth of rested exp on my level 30. I took a break for a day to play lancer for just the fun of it. I used up all of it in twenty minutes on the lancer class. I was very livid as you can imagine. I can make rested exp last several levels at the level 30± range.

The same here - it resets / looses the rested XP bonus the moment you change the classes and it's gone even if you change back to the class which had bonus before the change so I really wonder how those of you claiming having the bonus on all other classes have achieved this? Or are you actually changing the whole character rather then just the class?

I'm not sure if this is a bug or working as intended but it's pretty annoying to not be able to change the class without loosing it's rested bonus at the moment.

So far this is how it works based on my own testing together with couple of my friends:

1. Resting is (of course) applied to all your characters (don't mix up with classes on the same character).
2. Resting is NOT applied to other classes then the active one on the same character.
3. Changing the class (even momentarilly and then back) will reset / loose your collected and unused rested bonus instantly
4. Changing the job (on the same class) will NOT reset / loose your current rested bonus.

Anyone can confirm any of above from your own experience? Do you think that 3. is a bug so we should all together report it in the bug section? (It's actually already reported there but not using the requested form by someone ...)

I think rested exp only resets upon unlocking a new class. Even then, it's still a bug and I think it's already been reported. Haven't looked into it.

I personally have switched classes just to use my rested exp. I logged off with my MRD, and switched to MIN (since I think rested exp is best spent on DoL/DoH) and spent them, switched back to MRD to play and logged back off with it. Next day logged in, switched to MIN to spent the exp, and so on.

Nope - I have all 19 classes unlocked for a while and every single time I swap classes it resets the rested bonus. Could it be though that I'm changing from DoM / DoW to DoH / DoL? I need to test test within the same DoX or at least the same group (DoW / DoM or DoH / DoL) ... hmmmm

Actually, yeah, just tested this. Rested exp still there. I have too much rested exp to risk Forgot to test switching from DoW to another DoW / DoM, though... maybe that's it?

Either way - it's somehow botched up - we need to confirm which swaps works and which not and under what conditions as I don't dare anymore to change classes without using my rested bonus first which is a pain sometimes if you want just to quickly pop into secondary class to complete some quests or hunting logs in the same location or do some DoH / DoL task for a change if you're to tired of fighting etc.
