choco.egg cap

my question is do you have to have the dreamers dilemma quest active to be able to trade eggs to spriggan NPC to get the choco.egg cap i have all elemental eggs and when i talk to spriggy in cassiopeia he tells me he needs a shiny egg i dont know what hes talking about. please help

I dunno, all I did was trade 1 of every elemental egg to him including astral and umbral.

No, you aren't required to have any quest activated to trade your eggs to Spriggy. All I did was the Gridanian quest (and finished it, so it wasn't in my journal log anymore) and then later I went to see Twiggy in Mun-Tuy, whom I traded the 8 eggs to get the chocobo cap. As mentionned by Arcell, be sure to have all 6 elemental eggs + astral & umbral.

I received my choco egg cap this morning i think the prob. was i was getting hit by mobs while trying to talk to NPC i thought i could buff up and run up to him fast enough to get the cap i had to get help with getting rid of the mobs then i got my cap thanks for the replys

It appeared to me that I had to have the Dilemma quest finished for the region in which I was going after the choco cap. In my case, Iggy wouldn't give me the cap until I finished the Dreamer quest in Limsa, even though I'd finished both the Gridania and Ul'dah versions.

Hah, I tried that too. I eventually figured out I needed to kill the skeletons first.
