DPS METER?

i keep hearing about players being top dps etc etc, but the question is, how do they know? As far as i know there is no scoreboard at the end of a raid so how do you know if you're doing enough dps? Sone people download a program on pc that measures this, but that seems like a waste of bandwidth given lag problems. I play on ps3 so such aps are not possible anyways

Unsubstantiated boasting or using a log parser.

Log parsers are currently misleading right now, anyway, since they cannot accurately parse DoT skills.

I have no idea what those are. Are they downloadable pc aps? Remember i play on ps3 so extra aps are not an option

It's a PC program, yes. The parser runs in the background and scans the FFXIV chat log for battle data, then compiles the data for review.

It sounds like you already know the answer. They are using a 3rd party program. Not usable on ps3. It doesn't take up much resources, I play on a toaster and run It fine.
