To add to this, I don't understand why the friends list and linkshells are character bound rather than account bound. The way it is now, the characters are required to be online when added to your friends list. As such, you can't transfer gold or items between your characters on the same server because you can't add yourself to your own friends list. I understand that the supposed intention is to have one character do everything, but what if I prefer to have different races for different main jobs for aesthetic reasons?

    In short:

    - Linkshells and the friends list should be shared across the same account.

    - They should implement a way to transfer goods between characters on the same server.

    • Ability to share side quests with party members from the journal so that other members don't need to run and find the quest giver to do it together.

I agree that the friends list should be account bound and the friend request process should not require that the other person be online at the time of the request. I play at different hours then my brother and I can't friend him at all due to this.

I do not, however, agree with you on Linkshells being account bound. Linkshells are by invitation only and should remain that way. I do not want a bunch of my current Linkshell people having all of their Alt characters in the Linkshell that is designed for a specific purpose. For those Free Companies that use the Linkshells to institute structure then it becomes an administrative problem.

I also agree with you that there should be a way to transfer goods to another character of yours on the same server.

This has more to do with restricting cheating. On Freemium games, players make countless additional accounts as storage mules and as many characters as possible, just to cheat the inventory limits.

Like, there really is not much reason to create additional characters, even on the same server, and those characters have their own progress, so they shouldn't be allowed to just grab the gear from their other character.

    In which I propose:
Have the gear armoire double as a gear transfer closet. Anything stored here that isn't race/gender specific can bypass the character bind. So all characters on the account (cross-server if possible) can access it. Do not allow gil/GC-gear/GC-seals to be stored. It's one thing to allow untradeable gear to be used only on your own characters, it's an other to exploit it to strip an account if it's hacked.

    This a Million times this.

Mail between characters would be nice to include items, a nice way to do this would be how Neverwinter Nights has implemented their mailing system.

There are 2 ways to mail items.
    [character name]@[player tag]
    @[player tag]

this is very helpful as you can mail yourself with @[player tag] and the mail is accessible by all characters on your account on that shard.
