first, I can not wait for the barber shop, (great idea btw) I think this Fantasia as a paid service (not cash shop) is a great idea. paying for something that in absolutely no way affects game play of anyone, seems like a harmless way to spend money. I can understand someone not wanting to spend more then their subscription fee to obtain this, and in that regard, an earlier post i read had a great idea as well. They said to make this a reoccuring veteran reward for subscribtions. So, what if, hear me out, you can get a free bottle of fantasia, every 6 months. so you can change your character for free, twice a year. IF you choose to change again, you can do so by purchasing the item, as you would for a server transfer.

As far as "name changing." I have trouble supporting that, but can understand situations that would make sense to do. but for pure cosmetic purposes, changing your race seems like something that should be something able to be bought, or free if SE is generous.

I can see more Fantasia's being added to the veteran program for sure. I think that would be a smart idea. Hell I think them giving you one with your first sub was a fantastic idea.

As for name changes, the Fantasia potion is the biggest reason one is needed. Not everyone can/enjoys coming up with a gender and race neutral name

Ahh the arguments of the MMO nerds. MMO gamers are a very odd group of people because they both rage and complain the second anyone makes an idea that offers little to no actual impact on the game, but changes physical appearances of the character, while simultaneously complaining that the core game is too easy.

Not game breaking, but sufficientely bad to be despised. If there is going to be a such vanity option, it should be only be obtainable through the game or "special events" (like for the cactuar earrings). Put it in the grand company at a high seal price, just like stats reset is currently.

Vanity matters in FFXIV, it doesn't matter as much as other aspects the game such as the crafting and combat, but still matters. That's why it shouldn't be available in any form of item mall.

They could even just make the current fantasia potions tradeable. It's very annoying that they are not, otherwise it would be as simple as making a new character and getting that potion to your other character via a friend or however. Or even purchase them on the Market board so players that have no use for them could sell them off to players that want them. Really there is a lot of ways it could happen I just... want to see it happen.

Please.. I'm tired of being a cat man. The appeal has run out for me.
