    Well here's my encounter with the ?? NM up in the Gridania area (north-west of Camp Emerald Moss) and upon defeating him he dropped:

    an Archon egg
    a lightning Archon egg
    an earth Archon egg

    These things are loot piñatas when it comes to eggs, however you only seem to be able to carry one painted egg as it is labeled unique, not sure what they for.
