Warning to all those who play this game for story.

You make a group yourself. You're the one asking a person to play the way you want them to.

You can ask anyone to do anything, but if the answer is "no" than it is rude not to accept it.

I haven't asked anyone to play a specific way. I just said that if you really want to speed run, or you really want to watch those cut scenes, you should probably make your own group, unless you want to take the chance on risking being the minority, and if you do, by using the duty finder it's only reasonable to comply to majority's rule. Whatever that may be.

2) There is a time limit on the runs

Time limit my sweet behind, you have more than enough time to watch every cut scene and kill the bosses before the time runs out. I played the final 8man dungeon, the one that once completed the credits roll, with one tank and I both watching the cut scenes. The other tank was of the same mind as you, oh no if you watch all the CS's we will run out of time. The timer was 120min to complete this thing, which is ample time. With the one tank and I watching these CS's to conclusion and killing every single boss, do you know how much time we had left by the time the final boss died. There was a whole 41 minutes left. Yes, over half an hour left on the clock once the final bosses kicked the bucket, all with nary a cut scene skipped.

So unless you have a completely inept group of people that constantly wipe on every boss, you have more than enough time to view all the scenes and kill the bosses.

I play this game for the story, and I will enjoy the story. Even if that gets on your nerves because you've either already seen it (if you did, why are you trying to deny me the same pleasure?) or you don't care about the story (if so, why are you playing an MMO based on a RPG series, notorious for their lengthy stories). The tank previously mentioned, not only showed his disgust for having to sit and wait for us, but proceeded to try and insult the other tank with comments like he must read on a third grade level.

Though I agree on there being an option for an "abridged" version of the dungeon that simply doesnt play any cut scenes that are story based, maybe just the first fly through one at the door and the boss intro's, then make the cut scenes unskippable. That way they can limit the amount of bellyaching.

DF is not a democracy where cut scenes are concerned. If even one person wants to watch them, then let that person watch. The mechanic to skip the cut scene is there for people who have already completed it and are running it again. Let the people who are new to content experience it to its fullest.

Yeah, had one of those ignorant tanks for the last two missions and it drove me nuts how down right rude they were to the story players. It makes me sick honestly.

The people in DF who are telling you to skip cutscenes:

- Have already had their chance to see the cutscenes without others telling them to skip. Now they want to rush through for some repeated farming run, and are being selfish in expecting others to do the same.

- Don't care about story, and therefore don't have a relevant opinion about anything having to do with cutscenes.

- Don't have anything to lose by telling other players to skip content. They aren't the ones who will have to miss out on anything, so they will tell you anything they think will make it go faster.

- Can put together their own private speed-run group with their guildies. Duty Finder draws from random players of all experience and skill levels, so it isn't the place for that nonsense.

- Are basically just trying to make the game worse for you, to speed up their short-term profits. They could very well just be trying to rush through, just to fuel their RMT gil-farming business for all we know. Don't even give them the time of day, let alone ruin your game experience for some stranger.

The only fair way to deal with this, deciding to use the dungeon finder tool (agreeing to be put together with a bunch of random people with different opinions and goals), is to let the majority rule. If you're in the minority on either side, suck it up and stop being entitled. If you absolutely insist on enjoying the game a specific way, you should make your own group, and not pair yourself with completely random people, risking being the only one who wants to enjoy the content your specific way.

Last run i did i was with a friend, we clearly said at the beginning "gonna watch all cs deal with it", and since we were tanking guess what, gave no fucks whatsoever about people bitching to rush through the content.
