    As someone else has suggested; this could be fixed as it was in XI eons ago (I know, I know, XI, shoot me D: )

    Basically - if you weren't on the mobs hate list, you wouldn't get damaged by their AoEs. I'm not sure if this was still teh case for HNM because I steered clear of that crowd xD.

    That way people could run, craft, whatever they wanted to freely without getting blown up, clawed or drowned by a stray waterga.

    I'm trying to fish up a very difficult legendary fish at Cape Westwind, which has level 48 mobs. I use my stealth ability so the mobs don't aggro me.

    however, people keep "avoiding" mob attacks by moving right in my direction, which then causes the mobs attack to hit me as well cancelling my fishing and cancelling my stealth. I have to re-stealth and continue fishing.

    i normally ignore it, but if somebody does it quite a few times... it gets annoying

    Reminds me of when I would sub BLM on my PLD and grab a bunch of goblins and run to a camp, 2 hour, then warp to my bind point
