How are so many people getting hacked all of the sudden.

Because the people who are getting hacked do not want to pay 9.99 for a security token which would prevent any accounts from being hacked in the first place. Or have the token and don't want to use it until its too late.

They are all saying "i do not need the token my account will never get hacked and then they get hacked" and now they lose who know how much stuff from their characters and bank or retainers.

Inside jobs. People seem to think it's a joke but 90% of 'hacks' are from insider information; SOE, NCsoft...take your pick.

Or they just wanted to get ahead and tried to buy gil and got their account stolen. Or just visited one of the sites and got a keylogger installed.
Thats my prime 2 suspects. Doubt anyone falls for email phising anymore in this age ._.

I highly doubt that a security breach has happened with SE because if there was I am pretty sure they would catch it and have to make a big announcement about us changing passwords and such.

I haven't had a One-time password on my account for a long time and I haven't been hacked. Also if somebody attempts to put in your password incorrectly multiple times then they will lock your account. The only thing that would make sense is that the people who have been hacked have a keylogger on their Comp and don't know it.

If you want to fix this then make sure you get the one time password asap. (if you have iphone or android it is free) Then make sure you use anti-virus and anti-spyware programs to comb through your HD and get rid of the crap.

but still all in all just get the Security Token, I just started using it and have had no issues what so ever with it. Definitely worth it even if you have to buy the little key chain thing for it.
