Better graphics optimization?

I play on a lower end machine, yet with most games I still get 20-30 fps which is ok. These games have many different options to tweak the graphics

ff14 does not.

Why can't I turn off environmental shadows and only character shadows? Why can't I turn off anioscopic filtering? Why can't I lower my draw distance? These 3 things alone would greatly increase my fps and I might actually considering subbing once my month is up.

These options should be standard in 2013. Look at EQ2. The optimization is insane for that game and it was made in 2004!

Maybe I get into the registry and tweak it from there? I'd really like shadows gone completely and my filtering turned off. I just find it hard to believe there is no way to do these things.

No troll answers please. I know I need a better computer, but it's simply not in my budget right now. I don't have a ps3 so that is out of the question as well.

System specs helps out but on side note ever given thought on upgrading your gpu if your power supply up to task should help you out... But again without system specs hard to help you.

What is killing you is cpu and fact labtop you have runs off integrated graphics... Not much that i'd know you can do... damn.. was hoping you had desktop which givin you leeway but yea X_X

As much you don't want to hear it might have to start saving for desktop build; the way game is designed right now menus don't allow you to lower graphic settings unless there is macro out there to force it(like vanilla wow macro to force higher grpahic settings)

Intel HD 2000 or 3000 level graphics on that CPU--its one of the early Sandy Bridges, before the iSeries.

Sorry, but that's simply not up to minimum specs for the game. My daughter has the B960 CPU, and best I got out of it was 20FPS with the last benchmark tool, and that was after dumbing everything down and running at 1024/768.

If it was at least a more dedicated solution from ATI or nVidia, you might be able to strong-arm some settings (like AA off and such), but you don't have many options for overriding the graphics settings on those CPU's.

There are some more appropriate solutions out there for this game around the $500 mark now. Might get lucky and find some on sale for less. Need to verify the hardware and the Windows Experience Index though. Haven't tested enough systems to know for certain the minimum needed, but it should be at LEAST a 4.5 score to stand a good chance at running 30 FPS or better. AMD series A8 or A10 CPU's or Intel i-Series starting from the 3xxx line (like 3630) should have enough oomph to run it if it doesn't have dedicated graphics--but try to find one with at least dedicated graphics and separate graphics memory if you can. Getting away from CPU graphics is a big step, but it can be negated by sharing system memory to run your game.

Naturally, you safest bet will almost always be a desktop since it's easier to upgrade the weaker parts holding you back though.
