I mentioned this in beta and people smugly replied "don't die in dungeons, learn how to play".
But as you can see it doesn't matter if you never die, you still have repair costs.

Oh? And just how are you maintaining such a wonderful nestegg?Or maybe you just don't know how to make money? I'm still sitting above 200k gil as it is after running countless amdapor keeps, and as a Paladin im sure you know that means I die at least 3x more then anyone else.
Even after buying Relic weapon Materia this is not an issue.
I don't think people understand that economies don't just start out perfect, it takes time and work to settle. And for all you people complaining about not introducing gil? Well, guess you better start using your guild levels and fishing.
Guildleves produce 3000 every 12 hours. No way that is putting you in net profit with repair rates unless you are using horrendous gear.
Gathering/Crafting? yea-don't think so. Selling to NPCs does not produce an income unless that's pretty much all you do and you are wearing extremely low level gear. NPC prices: 1-5 gil maybe?
FATEs? Not likely. They give 250 gil. max usually (don't know about Primal FATE's and even then, they are 48 hour spawns). As a tank, you'd still come at a net loss trying to catch up with repairs.
Market Board maybe. But that still does not put money in the economy. It only takes it out while you play off your income as economic influx.
If you saved up your Leves (like I did. Started touching them yesterday with 100 allowances), its short term help, but won't last long.
The current means of generating gil into the economy are not enough to sustain lv 50 battlecraft players without them taking money from other players. Yes I've done the financial math and it supports this conclusion (certified in accounting so pretty sure I know a little more about how economic finances work than you based on your post).
But do please enlighten us to the gil deficit problem, and do please provide numbers for the more confused readers.

You're level 50. Time to figure out how to make gil.
Keep worrying about the economy, I'm making a killing, and I'm not tellin'!
This game's economy is a giant pyramid scheme. Anyone still left playing when it collapses will quit the game forever.
Square HAS to address this issue and quick.

wiping does not cost you
death is not the main source of durability loss

A lot of people are going to say, "Oh, well just go level a craft! I'm making 2-6k per synth on this level 30+ stuff" but I say to them immediately and resoundingly, "No!". I have no problem with leveling a craft as I'm currently 30 CRP and 30 BTN. I'm trying to keep them together to cut my costs due to the same problem as the OP here. There needs to be viable ways to make gil outside of crafting. Some people have absolutely 0 interest and crafting and shouldn't be forced into a situation where it's required to maintain them. I'm not looking for get rich quick schemes or camp a mob until it drops that big 2m item like in XI, I just want to be able to make gil by killing monsters...I'm an adventuere here, I didn't log into Economy Simulator 3000.
