    Making DoH Relevant

These are just a few ideas that I think would improve the economy and make crafters/gatherers relevant in the game. Post some of your ideas below!
    • Make end-game raids drop crafting materials instead of tokens (not all loot should be crafted, but I think it's reasonable to swap tokens with crafting materials for a game in which crafters are a class)
    • Bump the stats food increase and get rid of caps so people will seek them (+20 DEX, +5% crit chance)
    • Get rid of the potions' and ether's caps so people will seek them (+100 HP, +250 HP, +500HP...)
    • Introduce a series of end-game epic quests for crafters in which they learn difficult to obtain recipes and techniques, to differentiate an average do-it-all crafter from dedicated crafters
    • Introduce things for DoH/DoL to do in FATEs
    • Allow for crafters to create "patch kits" that people can purchase, so that they can repair their equipment on the go (Leatherworker's Patch Kit Lv. 5/10/15/20...)
    • Allow crafters to "set up shop" for repairs so that adventurers can repair and meld (even if the crafters are afk), similar to the current "Request Meld"

Allows advanced searching on the market when it comes to food.

For instance searching for + Determination food and stuff.

Atm if people want to get good food they have to browse the whole list unless they know the names of the recipe, it might sound dumb but it probably hurts Culinarian a bit.

Or hell, allow advanced searching period.

In a game such as this when crafting is a class of its own with the same amount of exp needed to lvl as say a lancer crafters seam to get a big middle finger it takes a ungodly amount of time to lvl a single crafting job and thats not including the gathering

ALL class's get given all the armor/weapons/tools they need from quests so why buy it from the market for example i made my self a iron scale mail 10 mins later i come cross it as a reward from a quest
yes crafters can make HQ but pre lvl cap thats not all that important

I have always believed that in mmo's the best gear in the game should be player made
sure hardmode dungons should drop great gear but it shouldnt be the best it should drop crafting recipes and mats for the best and drop the second best gear

If you want to make crafting a class make it so its worthwhile cuz at the moment it just aint worth all the time and effort when if you just follow the main storyline you will be given the level of gear for free

I'd love to see all of these, except getting rid of the cap. While it would create a great demand for food, I think that would be broken beyond belief, assuming you had the right amount of Gil, or could make the stuff yourself.

What I'd like to see instead is something like a "hunger meter". Let's say the hunger meter has a max of ten. Drinking Juice would add 1 to the meter, but eating Flatbread would add 3. This meter should also go up the higher your current level for whatever class/job you have on, so the more you progress, the more food you can stack.
This should be something optional, though. There should be no negative effects if the hunger meter is empty.

[*]Make end-game raids drop crafting materials instead of tokens
I would like if dungeons in general included some crafting loot, starting at Sastasha.

[*]Bump the stats food increase and get rid of caps so people will seek them (+20 DEX, +5% crit chance)
I've been pretty happy with food early on. I'm in the teen-levels with all DoH, and the crafting foods are some of the easiest profit... probably because it's such a pain to have so many ingredients

[*]Get rid of the potions' and ether's caps so people will seek them (+100 HP, +250 HP, +500HP...)
In the low levels potions and ethers are a joke, they could really use a buff.

[*]Introduce a series of end-game epic quests for crafters
This would be great! I hope it's coming.

[*]Introduce things for DoH/DoL to do in FATEs
    OMG please, YES!

[*]Allow for crafters to create "patch kits"
    Yes plz.

[*]Allow crafters to "set up shop"
Not sure I would ever want to do that

I agree. Beyond making weapons for the relic quest and the level 50 DoL/DoH "AF" gear, crafting is completely irrelevant. Nothing craftable, and even with full materia melds, is as good as other easily obtainable gear, whether it's Grand Company Weapons or Darklight gear from running easy dungeons over and over for tomestones. A perfect example is the Heavy Darksteel Set. The amount of tomestones needed to purchase enough coke for 1 darksteel ingot is only a hair less than just purchasing Darklight gear which is already better than the Heavy Darksteel Set with full materia melds.

With enough patience a crafter should be able to make an HQ sword, add a couple of great/rare materia, and be able to compete with primal weapons. Not saying crafted items should be on par with the best stuff in the game, but you also shouldn't get laughed out of the DF because you are using crafted gear. While I could possibly do this with a HQ Mailbreaker, it's insanely cost prohibitive.

They should add ilvl 60 tier gears and weapons where it only requires maybe about 4 to 5 coke, animal fat, etc.. because the gap between ilvl 55 to ilvl 70 is just huge in terms of acquiring the tombstones to get those mats. Simply more end-game recipes would be a nice, but then again, they probably already have this in mind in the next patch or so.

Why would you spend half the mats for ilvl 60? Would be a complete waste. Id rather spend double for ilvl 70, id rather spend quadruple for ilvl 90. This is not a curve.

Everything in moderation. I just think that having a cap next to the stat increased actually confuses people. It should be plain and simple!

The hunger meter is a great idea.

SE does really need to step it up with consumables, they are more trouble than they are worth right now.
