Yes, this was definately a great update for gamepad users. Now all we need is /assist and /targetpc and targetnpc.

As a gamepad user I LOVE these targeting changes. We desperately needed something like this.
It should be optional for those people who for whatever reason don't like it.
This was a Triumph...
I'm making a note here... Huge Success.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Thank you to all of the devs for this update on the gamepad lock-on controls. Target mode A is now my mode of choice and works splendidly. ^^
If it isnt working properly.... bug report?
You're holding down the autorun key to use autorun? It only needs to be pressed while moving to turn it on, and pressed again to turn it off. There isn't a reason to hold it down unless you're changing target filters.
I agree about the gamepad. I'm really liking the new targeting.
Wacky idea. How about For us keyboard users they add a single press button to toggle target modes? also being able to Click on the mode indicator to cycle through the various modes would be far more useful then the current finger gymnastics model.
An Aware, Informed, and Critical community is vital for the success of a game.~ John "Totalbiscuit" Bain
Excellent idea! These should absolutely be implemented!
@ elk, read my post again. I knew the issues, and this game is going on the ps3 at some point. Also not my fault you don't know how auto run works. I do know the base control schemes for kb and game pad.
