I FATE grinded my main for a large percentage of his leveling time, probably at least 20 levels of it. It's not the way I wanted to do it but my brother and I were waiting on my other brother to catch up on story stuff. So instead of sitting around waiting we decided to grind FATEs and ended up at 50 while still having story quests at lvl 28.
So I would agree that there is very little skill involved in FATE grinding, I wouldn't judge a persons ability based solely on that. There are other circumstances that could come into play as well.
nothing is wrong with fate grind people do it to save quest for alts

edit: don't assume that people just don't do their story quest >.>

Guess some player misunderstood my bad english. I am talking about ppl who solely use fate to power level their main (1st) job to max level. They avoid story mode first which is very important for them to learn about teamwork and dungeon mechanics.
I do advise players to do story mode as they level.

I get what you meant and i agree completely, some people FATE all the way to 50 jump into instances and have very generic gear or under lv'ed gear and just have no clue what they are doing.
I wonder why is there no ilvl restriction for queueing for dungeons.Last night when doing AK runs i had a BRD with ilvl 30-35 items on him complaning that PUGs are horrible at doing Garuda HM.Like he really helped his party with awesome DPS......
