Obtaining Additional Game Key (or using Multiple Characters on same)

I have purchased 3 copies of the game for the family and everyone is having a blast. So much so in fact, that we decided that we would like an extra/guest account.

I have read that its possible to use one account and log on additional characters, but I am not clear how that works. It seems that you still need an extra game key regardless.

Is there a way to purchase a key through the account page (i did look and didn't see anything) or do you absolutely need to purchase an additional physical copy (and keep key, throw away everything else, which seems EXTREMELY wasteful!)?

You don't need to get more Service Account to have more character for existing Service Account.

Each Service Account (which is one subscription itself) can have up to 8 characters in a world, and total of 40 of characters in all worlds on Standard subscription payment method.

Check the Support Centre:
* Can friends and family play simultaneously if they are on different accounts?
* Can I use the same character and/or SQEX account for both the PS3 and PC versions?
* Will I be able to play with more than one character at the same time?

I think you missed what I was asking.

I would like to log i 2 characters at same time, this what it 'seems' like they are saying I can do IF I have additional key codes.

I am wondering where I can get a code, other than physical purchases. Seems a waste to buy a game and throw everything away just for a key.

Get a digital download instead, then you get the key, without the wasted physical copy. Still costs nearly as much of course, but if you think it is worth it they are hoping to open up digital downloads again if this weekend proves the upgrades stabilized everything.

The point is - they have not added any "key purchasing" method to the account site, at least as far as I am aware. So, I was wondering if I was missing something simple. It seems as if I am not.

Yoshi's latest letter (earlier today) states that they are going to be monitoring server load through the weekend. If everything goes well, digital download sales will resume next week. I'm hoping product codes will also be purchasable at that time. If not, I'll just get the digital download version for my second service account.

Nah, I responded a little to quickly - when I read your post after my reply, I saw where you were going with it. That said, I have had a lot of "buy the DDL" responses from others, which of course isn't possible at the moment.
