I don't understand why I'd want to ride a chocobo if I can just use Anima... The idea of both existing is ridiculous.

Chocobos are a huge focus in almost every single Final Fantasy game... I hope they don't forget that.

Once you teleport to an area you still need to ride your Chocobo to your quest destination. Not everywhere has an Aetherial Gate.
