SE, are you going to let EU PvE community die?

The EU servers and the instance servers are actually located in Montreal, Canada. This fact creates multiple problems for 90% of the EU player base (including me), which at least makes me not to buy more time for this game.

First of all, the high ms makes the game feel really sluggish. One has a lot of filler time between attacks, since the key presses take a while to get across the Atlantic. For DPS it is just a flat out DPS loss and for healers it is the inability to interrupt casts.

The biggest problem with high ms is the fact that you will die a lot to AoE attacks, even when you have dodged the attacks clearly. It is really disheartening to see that happen for example during raid progress.

If you are to impose such a handicap to the European PvE community, do you think they care to continue paying for the subscription, hm?

I live on the West Coast (US), so how are the problems for you any greater than they are for me? And by that I mean, I have no problems at all. My internet doesn't suck though.

Constant lag, spikes to abou 2-3 seconds... yeah totally fine for endgame pve. I mean, dodging things is totally overrated.

I'm playing on a NA server from East Asia, no issue for me.

I play on a JP server from east coast, USA. While the lag is noticeable all the time (A handicap,) I am still able to perform my job effectively to a degree. Of course someone of equal skill level who lives in Japan will always perform better than I, I don't mind.

The Atlantic and bunch of countries in the way, perhaps? I know there are some western EU players, who don't have any problems at all (Portuguese, Spanish), but for some (especially the Nordic players), it is really awful. I am just saying that the servers should actually be in their appropriate continents.

Connections across mainland America are routed across many potential pathways. Connections across the atlantic must use one of a number of major undersea cables which are busier and have higher latency. I frequently see latency in the 500-3000ms range on Balmund - however since we have a 2500ms global cooldown, this massive latency is rarely a significant issue.

There is a certain delay with character positioning, but I can only compare to the 1.0 version and say it's really nothing compared to then. Otherwise I don't notice anything. My latency to the Canada data center is about 100ms lower than to the JP one, with the JP one being around 300ms. I know some EU people who said their latecny to the JP data center was lower than to the Canada one though.

We should have gotten a separate data center right from the start. Otherwise, for EU players, it makes little difference whether there are two or one data centers if they're almost the same distance away.

As for latency in the 500-3000 range, it most likely comes from crowded servers. Also, global cooldown is not fixed at 2500ms, you can reduce it by much depending on your class.
