They should really try to weave out classes. Make smn sch their own thing. It will be a lot easier to also develop other jobs as well.

Same thing they've always done even as a baseline? An Assassin type class that uses dances to give buffs and debuffs as well as, per XI, the ability to tank and cure. Sword Dance being a staple of the class is always a type of ability that grants boosted damage.

I was thinking DNC would be from pug. DNC could use hand to hand in xi and pug gets feather foot.
