Attention Tanks and DPS: It's not always the healers fault!

Are you using cooldowns to avoid damage? are you stunning when appropriate? are you dodging red things on the ground or are you standing in it? are you fighting adds on top of the healer?

In my honest opinion the healer can be one of the most demanding roles in the party.
he has to watch the health of every member in the group as well as his own, struggle to keep up when a member does not comply with one of the above questions.... the list goes on. Demon wall is a great example of this, I have to be constantly moving, meanign I barely get a chance to heal or do anything, top that off when people sand in the purple stuff and red spots. I wish healers didn't get as much hate as they do and people would be much more understanding.

Been chain running ifrit all day for my staff. The amount of missed interrupts/stuns, and dps dying to charges, plumes, whatever is mind boggling....

If I can keep track of everybody's health, as well as constantly move, there is ZERO excuse for a DPS to watch his feet...

I have to agree with this post. There are too many people out there that don't know how to play their class properly. With that being said, sometimes it *is* the healers' fault, but most times it isn't. The sad thing is that the people that don't know how to play their class are the very ones that think that they do.

I've been happily playing a Scholar, and well I don't mind some (or many, even) screw ups; nothing makes me grit my teeth harder than seeing the melee DPS plant their feet and take every avoidable AOE to the face. Even if I can heal them through the AOE, it certainly doesn't hurt to like...even try and take a step to the left.

Also, with the stun thing? The GCD issue seems to be screwing up a lot of that, unfortunately.

guys it's never a healer's fault for a dps who dies...

A tank ? maybe, we'd have to see case by case, but never for a dps, it's his own fault )))

PLD's stun is the shortest thus making it the most possible to stun pretty much every eruption in Ifrit. GCD doesn't affect that as I've done runs with every eruption stunned and I've done runs with them missing stuns.

So while people will happily say it's not the healer's fault, after a vulcan burst and the healer doesn't top everyone off and he Hellfires then follows it up with a seer > vulcan burst, you can blame the healer if people die. Not avoiding plumes, sure, that's tank/DPS fault, but dying due to never getting a heal or topped off? As much as one may not want to admit it, the AoE's Ifrit let out will eventually wear someone down.

Only times I've had the healer cause my team to wipe is if they stand right next to me, the TANK, as I'm holding the enemy away from the dps so only I get hit by AoE attacks (if I am unable to dodge them).

I had a Bard stand next to me when fighting Garuda (story mode) and he kept eating her AoE skills, is it really that hard to understand that Bards can fight from a distance? -_-

DPS have no real responsibility and that is why so many people run DPS. The only classes that have real responsibility and thus are always challenged are tanks and Healers. If you are not a tank or a healer main then you have no right to whinge or complain they are doing it wrong because, lets face it, you can't handle nor understand that responsibility yourself. Most healers and tanks do not fail on purpose they do the best they can. Abusing tanks or healers because they do not live up to the often lofty expectations of the group is plain silly.

We are not infallible and do quite often slip up here and there so be patient and show some love towards the classes that keep you alive. You wonder why no one wants to roll with a Tank or a Healer end game? There it is! I concede some tanks and healers are very poor at the class but that does not give others the right to abuse them. Run the class yourself or move on.

I will not apologize for a dps death. The tank is my priority. If the you are a dps and ur health drops below 50% ur not watching ur hate meter. As a DRG I'm constantly atking and making sure I'm not the the one the mob is targeting. All a dps has to do is atk, kill small fry adds(garuda feathers), and watch there hate. Unless we are on a boss where ur damage is needed ur going to stay dead until end of battle.

Never do Primals then, they all let out AoEs/some kind of attacks that'll hit anyone that potions and minimal %vampric type of ability won't negate, so as a healer you pretty much fail. What do you do when primals 2hr? Only heal the tank and sacrifice the entire run?
