I have installed ping zapper, how do i see the ping for ARR when using the program?

Sadly like with other companies that have looked into making servers there such as Blizzard, HoN, and few others, it is a combination of your collective telecoms and government. There was a pretty large write up before about a ompany named Telstra and their ridiculous rules and pricing they wanted. If you guys want these companies to host the games locally you guys need to demand your telecoms and government get off their butts and help make it work.

Having played on both the NA and JP servers I can say that 100ms of extra latency makes a big difference when trying to get away from AOE's. Noticeable even on junk mobs when leveling Archer.

For the OP your best bet is to re-roll or migrate (when you're able) to a JP server.

I'm currently on Tiamat and Oceania (guildworks) have set up an FC on there. As mentioned Tonberry is another one with a healthy Oceania population, and I think Typon has a decent Oceania playerbase.

Dhorme Chimera is literally impossible for me to dodge with a 250 ping. I didn't even think it would be this bad as i always have played with 200+ ping and i have finished everything very easily up to this point. I can't even imagine what Garuda/Titan HM or even the binding coil of Bahamut would be with this...

Couple of guild mates and I are playing on Tonberry today, checking it out. Hard to real compare at low levels, hoping to try story mode Ifirit and Titan tonight or tomorrow and see if it plays any better.

Yeah, have played with 200+ ms for years but can't in this. Pretty screwed.

server of choice is indeed a serious matter for us oceanic/asian players

i for one didn't hesitate to choose a JP server as soon as i heard that there are 2 data centers (NA/EU and JP)
latency is all that matters for endgame, i don't mind playing with the Japanese as long as i can play with no problem with latency
there are a lot of English community also here in the JP servers, even the shout window is filled with English than Japanese

I played on na servers for the beta tests and moved to tonberry for release/b4. For me the lag difference is huge and I wouldn't consider moving to na servers at all.

Heaps of English speaking people, in fact, I hardly ever seen Japanese shouts.
Apparently its also known within Japanese community that tonberry is a refugee destination fr south east asian and oceanic people like me (mind you I didnt get here by boat :-D )
